5 Julio 2024 at 23:35

At long last, the glorious mustache of Ron Burgundy can be admired in ultra-high definition. Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy has long been hailed as one of the greatest comedy movies of all time, and a 4K Blu-ray version is finally available as of this week. You can secure your copy of the 4K edition for $23.19 (was $26) at Amazon, just in time to watch it on Anchorman's 20th anniversary on July 9. The 4K Blu-ray edition of Anchorman also comes with 1080p Blu-ray and digital formats.

Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy

In case you haven't seen it--or you need to revisit it--Anchorman was one of Will Ferrell's breakout hits in the early 2000s. Going from Saturday Night Live sensation to cannon fodder for Austin Powers, Ferrell starred as the titular Ron Burgundy, San Diego's number one TV news anchor in a time when cable ruled the airwaves. Having become very comfortable in the male-dominated world of news, Burgundy faces a new challenge, when rising reporter Veronica Corningstone--played by Christina Applegate--turns his world upside down.

It'll be up to you and your team to stop a new threat from swallowing up the world. You'll earn treasure, accrue experience, and fight Daedra, Dragons, and Draugr along the way. A New Batman Series On Max Is No Longer Moving Forward

5 Julio 2024 at 22:05

This fall, Max's original series The Penguin will help bridge the gap between The Batman and The Batman Part II. However, the second planned spin-off series centered on Arkham Asylum is no longer going forward at Max.

Via Variety, Arkham Asylum was intended to be Max's second series in The Batman's continuity. Antonio Campos was previously attached to Arkham Asylum as the writer and the showrunner in 2022. But after two years of development, Max has elected to not go forward with Campos' version of the show. While the outlet notes that a separate Arkham Asylum series could eventually go forward at Max, the show as originally conceived is dead for now.

Before the second spin-off from The Batman was centered on Arkham Asylum, it was originally announced as a show that would focus on the Gotham City Police Department. In 2020, Boardwalk Empire creator Terrence Winter was signed to write and executive produce the series before he left the project over creative differences. Winter's successor, Joe Barton, also left the spin-off for the same reason.

Stardew Valley: Should You Pick Bats Or Mushrooms For The Cave

5 Julio 2024 at 21:56

Early in Stardew Valley Demetrius comes to your farm and offers to set up a research project in the cave located in the northern part of your farm. The two options presented are bats, which will occasionally leave fruit in the cave, or Mushrooms, which will occasionally spawn in the cave. Demetrius appears to make the offer once you have accumulated 25,000G. This choice is permanent, so you will want to pick the option that works best for you. Here are the benefits of each choice.

Bats

If you choose the Bats, fruit will occasionally spawn in the cave. This is an excellent choice if you want to complete the community bundles as early as possible, since you will need several different kinds of fruit for certain bundles. Otherwise, you will need to plant and grow several fruit trees before waiting for the right season for the tree to grow fruit. The fruit doesn't spawn every day, since there is only a chance, which increases if there is already some fruit in there. The fruit never despawns, so you don't have to check every day.

Fruit is useful in the late-game too, since fruit that grows on trees is universally liked, so it's a great steady supply of gifts for villagers. It can also be used for wine as well, which can be nice if you don't want to dedicate a large amount of space for fruit trees. If you want a steady supply of fruit without needing trees, choose the bats.

How To Get Clay In Stardew Valley

5 Julio 2024 at 21:21

Clay is a relatively common building material found in Stardew Valley, used to make structures and craftable items. Unlike other building materials like Wood and Stone, it isn't always obvious where you can find more Clay. Luckily, there are a few consistent ways to track down Clay in Stardew Valley.

Where to find Clay in Stardew Valley

Clay can most commonly be found by tilling dirt.
Clay can most commonly be found by tilling dirt.

Clay is most commonly found by tilling either dirt or sand with your hoe. It can be a little inconsistent with how frequently it appears from tilling, but clearing out large areas of dirt, like the patches found near the Carpenter's house, usually yields some Clay. You can also till the large amounts of dirt on your farm--with the exact amount depending on which farm layout you have. You can also till the dirt patches found sometimes in the Mines and Skull Caverns.

Artifact Spots, which look like worms coming out of the ground, can also yield Clay. Clay can also appear in fishing treasure chests and geodes, but similar to the Artifact Spots, so many different items can appear in these items that it's not a consistent way to find Clay. Clay can also be mined from Clay Veins, but these are only found on Ginger Island, which you won't get access to after completing either the Community Center or the Jojo Mart.

Giant Bomb Series Metal Gear Scanlon Is Now Free On YouTube

5 Julio 2024 at 20:59

To celebrate GameSpot sister-site Giant Bomb's sixteenth anniversary, the entirety of Let's Play series Metal Gear Scanlon is now on YouTube for free.

So named for co-host Drew Scanlon, the series sees him and Dan Ryckert, among other guests, tackle each of Metal Gear Solid's major titles, from the original PlayStation game to Metal Gear Rising Revengence to The Phantom Pain. Scanlon had never played Metal Gear before doing the series, so Ryckert acts as a tour guide. On YouTube, each season has been put into a giant, multi-hour video, but no further editing has been done.

Drew Scanlon was a Giant Bomb staff member until 2017, but you might know him best as the "blinking white guy" in that one gif. He currently works at video game development studio Digital Eclipse. Ryckert is presently creative director at Giant Bomb.

Is The Matrix Deckbuilding Game Real, Or Is It A Simulation?

5 Julio 2024 at 20:31

There was a time when there were a few games based on The Matrix movies, and they were even pretty good at times. Today, while video game adaptations are tougher to come by (although you can be Neo or Trinity in Fortnite), fans shouldn't sleep on a tabletop opportunity to delve into the Matrix, with Upper Deck's Legendary Encounters: The Matrix deckbuilding game, available on Amazon.

If you're a tabletop or deckbuilding game fan but unfamiliar with the Legendary series, you're missing out. They're a series of cooperative games you can play solo or with friends where you battle against the deck, and they're constructed really well to capture the feeling of venturing into the licensed worlds they're trying to portray. The first Legendary game was a Marvel superheroes deckbuilder and has a ton of expansions, but I have the first Legendary Encounters, where the franchise expanded into movies with the Alien franchise. While that one seems to be out of print, the game manages to replicate the specific feel of the original Alien franchise, but with cards, and not only is it a fun and well-designed game, it's genuinely pretty tense for a game you play with cards.

Haters Be Damned: Elden Ring Summoning Leads To Shadow Of The Erdtree's Best Moment

5 Julio 2024 at 19:28

Igon is the best character in Shadow of the Erdtree. He's the best character in all of Elden Ring, in fact. He might be the best character in any From Software game. And if you're the kind of person who makes "git gud" a cornerstone of your personality, you probably missed out on him.

You find Igon at the base of the Jagged Peak, and at first, he's kind of a pathetic figure. He's already injured when you discover him, and from his wailing laments, you learn that he's trying to kill a huge and horrific dragon called Bayle the Dread. Apparently, Bayle already kicked Igon's ass and he can no longer walk, so being the very nice person that you are, you leave him crying on the side of the road.

You might have thought Igon was a sad, broken man, but you haven't yet seen the depths of his resolve. Later, as you climb the mountain, you slay a few dragons who stand in your way--first one, alone, and then two together. After winning the battle against two dragons at once, you hear laughter. It's Igon, and seeing your performance convinces him that you're the partner he's been waiting for. He cuts off his own finger--that's how summoning NPCs works in Elden Ring--and gives it to you, begging you to summon his soul in your fight against Bayle.

Epic Games Calls Out Apple For "Arbitrary" Rejection Of Its New App Store

5 Julio 2024 at 19:26

Epic Games has taken to Twitter to call out Apple for rejecting the company's app submission, claiming that it's arbitrary and obstructive.

"Apple has rejected our Epic Games Store notarization submission twice now, claiming the design and position of Epic’s 'Install' button is too similar to Apple's 'Get' button and that our 'In-app purchases' label is too similar to the App Store's 'In-App Purchases' label," Epic Games explained.

Epic Games continued, saying that it is using the same "Install" and "In-app purchases" naming conventions that are used on multiple different popular app stores and platforms. Epic also said that it is building a store that mobile users can easily understand and is following standard design conventions in iOS apps.

The PS5 library has grown considerably over the past few years, and if you've been gaming since 2020, there's a good chance you're running out of storage space. It's not uncommon to see titles take up 100GB or more--meaning your drive can fill up from just a handful of games. If you're juggling games on and off your PS5, consider picking up the Samsung 980 Pro SSD with Heatsink (2TB), as it's on sale for just $135 (down from $230) at Best Buy until tonight at 10 PM PT / 1 AM ET (July 5).

Samsung 980 Pro SSD with Heatsink (2TB)

$135 (was $230)

The SSD has been priced around $180 throughout most of the year--deals such as this one have become increasingly uncommon in 2024. That makes this current offer of $135 for 2TB mighty enticing. This model includes a built-in heatsink, so getting it installed in your PS5 requires little more than popping off the faceplate and undoing a few screws. The Samsung 980 Pro has been one of the most popular storage expansion solutions for years. We tested the 980 Pro, and it's still working perfectly years later. It's virtually indistinguishable from the PS5's internal SSD.

Of course, you can also use this with your PC. This high-end NVMe SSD boasts read speeds up to 7,000MB/s and write speeds up to 5,100MB/s. If you do use it on PC, you can check out the Samsung Magician software to get updates on the drive's health, overall performance, and check for firmware updates.

To help you through the installation process, be sure to check out our guide on how to install an M.2 SSD in PS5.

Neil Gaiman Faces Sexual Assault Allegations

5 Julio 2024 at 13:27

Neil Gaiman has been accused of sexual assault by two women with whom he was in consensual relationships. Gaiman denies these allegations and is currently the subject of a police complaint in New Zealand, according to an investigation by Tortoise Media.

The allegations, spanning two decades, involve Scarlett, a nanny, and K, a fan. Scarlett, 23, claims Gaiman assaulted her hours after their first meeting in February 2022 at his New Zealand residence. She was hired as a nanny by Gaiman's then-wife, Amanda Palmer. Scarlett alleges that Gaiman joined her in the bath and assaulted her. Gaiman maintains they only "cuddled" and "made out," and insists all subsequent sexual activity was consensual. Scarlett alleges Gaiman engaged in "rough and degrading sex" during their three-week relationship, which Gaiman denies.

K, who met Gaiman at a Florida book signing in 2003 when she was 18, began a romantic relationship with him at 20. She claims Gaiman engaged in "rough and painful sex," including one instance in 2007 where he penetrated her despite her objections. Gaiman denies any unlawful behavior with K and attributes her allegations to regret over their relationship.

Nintendo Sees Potential In Generative AI, But Won't Make Games Created "By Technology Alone"

5 Julio 2024 at 13:07

Several video game companies have begun exploring how generative AI can help with the development process of their titles, but Nintendo isn't ready to embrace the technology just yet. When asked in a shareholder Q&A if the company had any initiatives in place to use AI, Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa explained that AI could be used "in creative ways" but there were also "issues with intellectual property rights" to deal with.

"Generative AI, which is becoming a big topic recently, can be used in creative ways, but we recognize that it may also raise issues with intellectual property rights," Furukawa said. While Nintendo is open to "utilizing technological developments," it is currently relying on its experienced employees to develop unique games.

"We have decades of know-how in creating the best gaming experiences for our players. While we are open to utilizing technological developments, we will work to continue delivering value that is unique to Nintendo and cannot be created by technology alone," Furukawa said.

Capcom has announced that it is ending Exoprimal's seasonal updates as Season 4 comes to a close. However, online servers will remain functional and previous seasons will be rotating through the game monthly.

Season 4 ends on July 11, and then Seasons 1, 2, and 3 will return in a rotating order every single month. Additionally, Season Passes 1-3 will be available for sale again, which allows players to obtain items from all seasons.

All gameplay modes will still be available to play as well, including end-game content like the Savage Gauntlet and Time Loop Rebellion. If players are alone or matched with only a few other players, AI-controlled bots will be added so that they can still fully experience the campaign and see the ending.
