1997 Horror Classic I Know What You Did Last Summer Returns With A 4K Blu-Ray Release

5 Abril 2025 at 00:06

The 1997 slasher film I Know What You Did Last Summer is getting a new reboot later this year, but if you're looking to catch up on the slasher franchise before then, then you can preorder a new 4K Steelbook Edition of the first film. Priced at $56 and scheduled to arrive on June 24, this re-release of the film includes a spooky steelbook cover, a standard Blu-ray copy of the film, and a digital streaming code.

I Know What You Did Last Summer 4K Steelbook Edition

$56 | Releases June 24

Like the previous 4K release of I Know What You Did Last Summer, this version comes with a nice selection of bonus materials. On the disc, you'll find deleted scenes, an alternate ending, commentary tracks, and more. This is also looks to be one of the best versions of the cult-classic thriller, as it was scanned from the original camera negatives and remastered in 4K and in Dolby Vision. It comes in an exclusive steelbook case featuring artwork from the film.

  • Director's short film: Joyride, with optional commentary

I Know What You Did Last Summer was a big hit when it came out in 1997, back when it was released during the '90s Renaissance of teen-slasher movies. Adapted from the 1973 novel of the same name written by Lois Duncan-Arquette, the film follows four teens after they accidentally run over a person, dump his body in the sea, and then face the wrath of a homicidal fisherman who knows their dark secret. The movie starred Jennifer Love Hewitt, Freddie Prinze Jr., Sarah Michel Gellar, and Ryan Phillipe, and at the box office, it was a huge hit.

InZoi Vs. The Sims 4: Which Life Sim Is Better?

4 Abril 2025 at 22:31

InZoi has finally arrived in Early Access on Steam, and after much anticipation that Krafton's life sim could be the first real competition for The Sims in decades, we are of course very eager to compare the two.

The reality, of course, is that any brand-new life sim is going to have a hard time going up against a title like The Sims 4, which has been out for a decade and has received dozens of DLCs over that span. It's just not an even fight. With that being the case, a standard apples-to-apple comparison isn't the best way to look at this competition between an old hat and an ambitious newcomer--that wouldn't be fair. Instead, let's drill down into what each game does best. While InZoi does still feel like a bit of an empty shell compared to The Sims 4, Krafton's game already has certain features that EA probably cannot hope to match any time soon.

This is particularly true when it comes to customization. But at the same time, InZoi is still very far behind The Sims on the simulation side. Let's drill down into these differences so we can better understand whether InZoi really can be an effective competitor to The Sims going forward.

InZoi is better: deep customization

At first, character creation in InZoi seemed more or less to be the same as it is in The Sims 4--then I discovered the real customization options, like the ability to design your own clothing items and upload images that you can use as textures for them. Turns out, you can also do the same stuff with any furniture you place in your house. InZoi essentially has built-in tools for creating custom content, whereas making this sort of stuff in The Sims 4 requires third-party mod tools. It's a great inclusion and makes InZoi stand out in at least this one major way.

The Sims is better: It has much more "stuff"

While you can't customize your clothes and furniture in The Sims 4 to the same degree that you can in InZoi, there isn't the same need for it because there's just so much stuff in The Sims 4. Every new expansion has added plenty of clothing and build mode items to the base game, so even people who have never spent a dime on The Sims 4 have regularly received new usable items for years. There's so much stuff that the lack of deep, built-in customization doesn't really hurt much.

InZoi is better: Everything is more granular

It's not just the customization--everything in InZoi is at least a little bit more in-depth than their equivalent features in The Sims 4, from tiny features like the way your Zoi will use the dresser to change into pajamas before bed, to more impactful things like the way your home accumulates dust that has to be cleaned regularly. InZoi gets deep into the details in a surprisingly appealing way.

The Sims is better: a more intuitive build mode

InZoi's granularity extends to its build mode tools, which is both a blessing and a curse. Sure, there are some things you can do with InZoi's building tools that you can't do in The Sims 4, but I'm not convinced it's for the better for most folks, because even though you gain a little bit of granular usability, you lose some ease of use in the process. InZoi's UI is fairly messy and has a steeper learning curve. Contrast that with build mode in The Sims 4, where you can manipulate any object by clicking it, and it's clear that even though InZoi's build mode is deeper, it's harder to learn and to use.

InZoi is better: customizing your town

In The Sims, you have basically unlimited freedom to mess with any property lot in the game, but you can't touch anything else--outside of lots, the many worlds of The Sims 4 are set in stone. InZoi goes the other direction, allowing players to mess with their cities as much as they want. You can use build mode anywhere you want, placing food trucks all over town so you're never far from an emergency meal, for example. And in the Edit City menu you can make global changes, like filling your town with (peaceful) crocodiles or making it very dirty--or you could make your neighbors super mean or super nice. In The Sims 4, a lot of this stuff would be impossible even with mods.

The Sims is better: Pets

While InZoi will let you add stray dogs and cats to your city, you can't interact with them much, and you can't take any of them home with you because InZoi doesn't support pets yet. The Sims 4 does, though they're locked behind paid expansions (Cats & Dogs and Horse Ranch).

InZoi is better: the scheduler

Using InZoi's scheduler, you can set up all your appointments each week, picking where you'll go and at what time, and your Zoi will eagerly do all of it. The scheduler is only for out-of-home stuff, so you can't use it to automate your Zoi's entire life, but it definitely makes it easier to deal with large households, since this allows you to manually automate most of their activities ahead of time if you want to.

The Sims is better: A much more coherent simulation

The Sims 4 is a video game version of real life and has more or less the same sort of social dynamics we have to deal with in society. For example, if you cheat on your spouse, they'll probably, at the very least, get really mad and say mean things about you to their friends, hurting your reputation and making other people like you less. It's a funhouse mirror for reality.

This is something InZoi is missing in a big way--any meaningful sense of cause and effect. There are plenty of things to do, but little point in doing them. You can get a job, but it won't require any skills, and you won't make useful amounts of money from it. You can have relationships, but jealousy barely exists as a concept in this universe, which makes that aspect kinda boring. Learning to play one musical instrument automatically makes you know how to play all other musical instruments, too. The simulation side of InZoi is like this through and through.

InZoi is better: More immersion

One quirk of InZoi's control scheme is how it makes use of the WASD keys to walk your character around, a feature that drove me crazy during my first few hours playing because in The Sims 4, WASD moves the camera. But when you combine that control quirk with an over-the-shoulder view, which you bring up by pressing Tab, you suddenly have the ability to walk around town like you're playing some kind of third-person walking simulator. The Sims 4 has no comparable feature, which makes it an exceptionally interesting thing for InZoi to include.

The Sims is better: It's a completed game

We can compare and contrast The Sims 4 and InZoi all week, but while InZoi definitely has some innovative new features that could make it an essential entry in the life sim genre, it's not going to dethrone EA's long-running franchise right now. The Sims 4 will win every current, overall comparison between the two games simply because InZoi is an Early Access release and really feels like one--it's more like the framework of a game at this point. That framework is extremely promising in some key respects, but it needs a lot more work before it feels all that fun to live in.

Heart Machine's Next Game Isn't At All What I Expected, But I Liked It

4 Abril 2025 at 21:20

At GDC 2025, I watched a walkthrough of one of the early levels of Possessor(s), the next game from Heart Machine. The studio typically goes for action games but mixes in a little bit of something else--2016's Hyper Light Drifter had RPG elements, 2021's Solar Ash was an adventure-platformer, and 2025's Hyper Light Breaker is a cooperative roguelike. Possessor(s) is a metroidvania or, as Heart Machine prefers to call it, a search-action game (which, honestly, is such a better term for the genre).

A sidescroller, Possessor(s) sees you play as two characters: Luca, a teenage girl, and Rehm, the demon possessing her. I didn't get to see the events that led to their partnership, but the Heart Machine team explained that the start of Possessor(s) sees Luca caught up in an interdimensional catastrophe that rips a hole in the sky and kills everyone she loves--it's only because of the intervention of the strange horned man now within her that she survives.

During Luca and Rehm's journey, they'll encounter objects possessed by feral demons.
During Luca and Rehm's journey, they'll encounter objects possessed by feral demons.

Rehm also gives Luca artificial legs (I don't know what happened to her original legs, but I assume the full game will clue us in), so that she can jump higher and survive falls from any height, and Luca uses these new prosthetics to navigate the now-quarantined city in hopes of escaping it and learning more about how the catastrophe happened. The duo regularly converse about their substantially different views of demons and the corporation responsible for most everything in the city, alleviating much of the sense of loneliness that I've come to expect in other search-action games.

Astro Bot PS5 Console Bundle Deals Still Available At Amazon

4 Abril 2025 at 19:53

If you're in the market for a PlayStation 5 console, now might be the time to buy one. With Nintendo delaying Switch 2 preorders in the US to evaluate the impact of newly imposed tariffs on imported goods, future pricing for all products, including other video game hardware, could change in the coming months. PlayStation already raised the price of the PS5 in Japan last year, so a price increase in the US wouldn't be much of a surprise--even without factoring in the tariff situation.

But there's another good reason to buy a PlayStation 5 right now: You can get a pretty awesome deal. PlayStation released PS5 Slim and PS5 Slim Digital Astro Bot bundles in March. These bundles are priced $50 lower than the console on its own, and you get a copy of one of the best PS5 exclusives. You're essentially saving $110 versus buying the console and Astro Bot ($60) separately.

Amazon and Walmart are selling the bundles for $1 less than other retailers. These PS5 bundles will only be available for a limited time.

How To Complete Captain Sims Quest in Atomfall

4 Abril 2025 at 19:40

Captain Grant Sims is the leader of the Protocol military force in Atomfall, and he can be found inside the force's headquarters in Wyndham Village. While Captain Sims is a daunting figure due to how much trouble he's caused in the village and surrounding areas, you can get on his good side with a few good deeds. This effort can result in learning of a new escape route out of the Quarantine Zone, but can Captain Sims and Protocol really be trusted?

We'll go over how to complete the entire Captain Sims investigation and the ending it gives you in Atomfall in the full walkthrough below.

Finding and speaking with Captain Sims

First and foremost, you need to speak with Captain Sims to get started on his investigation. As soon as you enter Wyndham Village in Atomfall, you'll be instructed by the Protocol soldiers to go and talk to the captain at the Village Hill location. This is found in the center of two, just north of St. Katherine's Church.

Inside the Village Hall, you'll find Captain Sims standing behind his desk at the end of the first room. Talk to the captain, and he'll initially be wary of you. However, to earn his trust, all you need to do is complete an investigation for him.

You can pick between two investigations, and both take place in Wyndham Village. The first is diving into a murder that occurred at St. Katherine's Church. This kicks off the Murder in the Church investigation, which we've already covered in a previous walkthrough. This investigation doesn't take too long, and it has a couple of different endings.

The other investigation you can complete for Captain Sims takes place at the local bakery. The baker's husband has been acting strangely, and the captain wants you to find out what's going on. This is another short investigation.

After you complete just one of the investigations, return to Captain Sims and report your findings. This will make the captain trust you a little more, but now he wants you to look into a larger matter.

Find and confront Dr. Garrow

Captain Sims now wants you to interrogate a known fugitive, Dr. Garrow. Dr. Garrow is a scientist who's responsible for the Quarantine Zone being put up, and she's locked up in the Skethermoor Prison. The doctor apparently tried to escape using a strange device, and Captain Sims wants you to find out more about what it is.

We have covered how to find Dr. Garrow in Skethermoor Prison in a previous walkthrough. However, that walkthrough doesn't totally apply if you go through Captain Sims before attempting to find Dr. Garrow in the prison. Captain Sims gives you permission to enter the prison, and when this happens, you won't have to fight through all the Protocol soldiers that surround the prison. You can easily get through the prison, without the use of a Signal Redirector, and find Dr. Garrow.

If you try to break out Dr. Garrow before speaking to Captain Sims, it's highly recommended to follow our walkthrough, as that will allow you to get through with much fewer issues.

Either way you go about it, Dr. Garrow is located on the bottom floor of Skethermoor Prison. Keep heading straight in the prison, and you'll continue to head down different levels. Eventually, you'll find Dr. Garrow in a holding cell in the center of a large warehouse.

Speak with Dr. Garrow to hear her story. You can choose to break her out of the prison if you believe her story, but you mainly want to loot the Signal Redirector in a nearby room by Dr. Garrow's prison cell. If you have the Signal Redirector, you can choose to leave Dr. Garrow or break her out, which can lead to a different ending in Atomfall. With the Signal Redirector, return to Captain Sims.

Recover the Radio Part in Casterfell Woods

When you return to Captain Sims again, you can show him the Signal Redirector you looted. Now, the captain lets you in on his escape plan, but he's still missing one crucial element before the escape can happen. The Wyndham Village citizens supposedly stole a key radio part from Protocol and bartered it for supplies from the Druids in Casterfell Woods. Your job is to track down and retrieve the radio part.

If you have already completed some quests for Mother Jago in Atomfall, it's entirely possible you already have this radio part. In which case, hand over the part to the captain and you can proceed with the investigation.

However, if you need to find the radio part, you can do so by heading to Casterfell Woods via the Sewer Tunnels in Wyndham Village or backtracking to Slatten Dale and entering the woods through there. Either way, you need to visit the Speaking Cave in Casterfell Woods, which is marked on your map if you're tracking the Captain Sims investigation. You can also find it at coordinates 23.0 E, 85.4 N.

The Speaking Cave is right in the middle of a Druid camp, so you want to try and avoid them as much as possible. You also need to contend with plenty of Druids inside the cave. However, if you've completed Mother Jago quests, then you might be able to walk in without being harmed.

The radio part you're looking for inside the Speaking Cave is located at the very far end of the winding paths you'll find near the entrance. Keep heading straight until you find a large wooden structure of a deity surrounded by blue plants. Head behind this wooden man and enter a small, blue-lit cave. Here, you'll find the radio part for Captain Sims on the ground near some potatoes. You can also find an audio log of Captain Sims talking about the "Atomfall Project."

Return to Captain Sims with the part to proceed with the investigation.

Enter the Oberon Digsite

After returning the radio part to Captain Sims, you've gained his full trust. To proceed with Protocol's escape plan, you need to enter the Windscale Plant in the Interchange, find Oberon, and destroy it.

This involves entering the Interchange, powering on all four Data Room Stores, and turning on the Central Processing Unit. Once the CPU has been activated from the central room in the Interchange, a new entrance will open up that leads you straight into the Windscale Plant. Take the entrance and you'll find yourself in a new, rainy area surrounded by thrall enemies.

Keep heading straight through the Windscale Plant, trying your best to avoid the thralls and other enemies, and eventually you'll reach doors to enter the Oberon Digsite area.

When you first enter the digsite, you're greeted with a view of the Oberon meteor, which is massive and glowing purple in the center of a large cavern.

Destroy Oberon and escape with Protocol

Now that you have entered the digsite, it's time to blow it to smithereens. To do this, head toward the Oberon meteor. Here, you'll find two robots patrolling both sides of the large rock. You might also see four cylinders with the word "Explosives" printed on a large tank at the top of them. You need to visit each one of these cylinders and arm a bomb that's found at the base of them. There are two bombs each on the left and right sides of Oberon.

Once you've visited and armed all four bombs, go back near the entrance to the digsite. On your left (if you're looking at Oberon from the entrance doors), you'll see a large building. Go towards the building and enter the hallways. Keep proceeding down the hallways, which have a few haz-mat enemies in them, and find the command center for the digsite. You'll know you're there when you see a ton of command stations and levers.

One of the levers, located on the top left side of the command center, is labeled "Self Destruct Console." If you have armed all four bombs below, pull the lever. You're now given three minutes to escape the Oberon Digsite area and the Windscale Plant before everything is destroyed.

Make your way through the Windscale Plant again, and then go back to Wyndham Village when you're safely in the Interchange. The easiest route to the village is through Data Store Room A. In the village, go to the Village Hall to find a note left behind by Captain Sims. He states that Druids attacked the village, and Protocol retreated to Skethermoor.

Go to Skethermoor, making sure to follow your Captain Sims quest marker, and you'll find the captain ready with a UK-themed chopper right next to the prison. You can talk to the captain, board the chopper, and then escape the Quarantine Zone.

Atomfall ends as soon as you get on the chopper.

Best Weapon Loadouts For CoD: Warzone In BO6 Season 3

4 Abril 2025 at 19:28

Call of Duty Season 3 is live in Warzone. In addition to the Verdansk map, Season 3 adds a brand-new battle pass and limited-time event to deliver several iconic weapons from Modern Warfare 2019. This new season makes the weapon meta completely fresh, and there are a lot of powerful weapons to consider. Here, we recommend some of the best weapon loadouts to try across standard battle royale and Resurgence matches of Warzone.

Season 3 adds plenty of nostalgic weapons from Modern Warfare 2019, such as the Kilo 141, CR-56 AMAX, Grau 5.56, and the HDR. All of these weapons are great to use in Warzone again and will be featured in the gun builds listed below.

Make sure to also check out our guide for recommended Black Ops 6 multiplayer loadouts for Season 3.

CR-56 AMAX

The CR-56 AMAX assault rifle returns as the king of Verdansk, and just like the Modern Warfare 2019 version, this gun still hits like a truck. It still has a slower fire rate and a bit more recoil than the Kilo 141 build shared below, but it's such a powerful assault rifle to use. The recommended attachments will help reduce some of the weapon's kick and speed up the fire rate.

This build uses the Monolithic Suppressor, which is unlocked in the free tiers of the battle pass on page 7. You can also use the standard suppressor on this build until you can unlock the Monolithic Suppressor in the pass.

Recommended CR-56 AMAX attachments:

  • Optic: Volzhskiy Reflex
  • Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor
  • Barrel: Gain-Twist Barrel
  • Underbarrel: Vertical Foregrip
  • Magazine: Extended Mag II

Kilo 141

Originally from Modern Warfare 2019, the fan-favorite Kilo 141 assault rifle returns with Season 3. The Kilo 141 was made popular because it was so reliable and really easy to handle. This remains true in the gun's return to Verdansk. This is a fast-firing and reliable choice with minimal recoil, making this an easy top choice for Season 3. This is a great gun and recommended build regardless of the map or mode.

Recommended Kilo 141 attachments:

  • Optic: Volzhskiy Reflex
  • Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor
  • Barrel: Gain-Twist Barrel
  • Underbarrel: Vertical Foregrip
  • Magazine: Extended Mag II

Swat 5.56 (Grau conversion)

The Swat 5.56 made for a pretty weak choice in Warzone, but Season 3's battle pass adds a Grau conversion kit attachment that transforms this underperforming marksman rifle into the fully-auto Grau 5.56 assault rifle from Modern Warfare 2019. With this conversion kit, the gun has a very fast time-to-kill and very little recoil. It really looks and feels just like the original Grau 5.56, which was so popular with Verdansk.

Again, this build uses the Grau conversion kit, which is unlocked in the free tiers of the battle pass on page 5. You can use the standard suppressor until you unlock this.

Recommended Swat 5.56 attachments:

  • Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor
  • Underbarrel: Vertical Foregrip
  • Magazine: Full-Auto Extended Mag
  • Rear Grip: Quickdraw Grip
  • Fire Mod: Grau Conversion

KSV

The KSV submachine gun is one of the best options for close-range engagements. The recommended attachments will help provide the KSV with more recoil control, extra bullet velocity, and additional ammo.

Recommended KSV attachments:

  • Muzzle: Compensator
  • Barrel: Reinforced Barrel
  • Underbarrel: Ranger Foregrip
  • Magazine: Extended Mag II
  • Stock: Balanced Stock

C9

The C9 is a well-rounded gun for close-range fights, and it's a great choice for a sniper support gun. The recommended attachments will give you more recoil control, extra bullet velocity, and additional ammo.

Recommended C9 attachments:

  • Muzzle: Compensator
  • Barrel: Reinforced Barrel
  • Underbarrel: Ranger Foregrip
  • Magazine: Extended Mag II
  • Rear Grip: Commando Grip

HDR

Originally from Modern Warfare 2019, the HDR sniper rifle returns in Season 3. The HDR returns to Verdansk with its same one-shot glory. The recommended attachments will help boost the bullet velocity and damage range, making this a one-shot sniper at infinite range.

Recommended HDR attachments:

  • Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor
  • Barrel: Gain-Twist Barrel
  • Magazine: Extended Mag I
  • Rear Grip: Quickdraw Grip
  • Fire Mod: 108MM Overpressured

Kar98k

Not everyone loves slow, heavy snipers like the HDR. The Kar98k is still a decent choice for those looking for a faster and more aggressive sniper. This won't get you one-shot potential at infinite range, but this is still a great build for aggressive snipers not looking to challenge players across the distance of huge POIs.

Recommended Kar98k attachments:

  • Optic: Range Caller V3.4
  • Muzzle: VT-7 Spiritfire Suppressor
  • Barrel: Prazisionsgewehr 762 Long Barrel
  • Sling: Recon Sling
  • Ammunition: 7.92x57MM High Grain Rounds

Best Weapon Loadouts For CoD: Black Ops 6 Multiplayer

4 Abril 2025 at 19:22

Call of Duty Season 3 is live in Black Ops 6, bringing brand-new maps, more game modes, and more guns to unlock in the battle pass. Season 3 completely shakes up the weapon meta, so here we recommend the best weapon builds to try for your next match of multiplayer.

Season 3 adds plenty of nostalgic weapons from Modern Warfare 2019, such as the Kilo 141, CR-56 AMAX, Grau 5.56, and the HDR. All of these weapons look and feel great to use, so there is no shortage of great choices for mid-to-long-range options in Black Ops 6.

The Season 3 patch notes included nerfs for previously popular weapons like the Jackal PDW, and added buffs to make several less viable weapons more popular, including many semi-auto guns.

Recommended weapon builds can be found below, but if you're looking for more details about the new season, make sure to check out all the highlights for Season 3 of Black Ops 6.

We also have a guide for recommended Black Ops 6 weapon builds to use in Warzone for Season 3.

Kilo 141

Originally from Modern Warfare 2019, the fan-favorite Kilo 141 assault rifle returns with Season 3. Currently, this is one of the best guns in the game. It has a fast fire rate and very minimal recoil, making it powerful but also really easy to handle. Here's how you unlock the Kilo 141 in Season 3.

Recommended Kilo 141 attachments:

  • Optic: Kepler Microflex
  • Muzzle: Suppressor
  • Underbarrel: Ranger Foregrip
  • Magazine: Extended Mag I
  • Rear Grip: Ergonomic Grip

Swat 5.56 (Grau conversion)

The Swat 5.56 marksman rifle hasn't really been a popular choice for multiplayer, but Season 3's battle pass adds a Grau conversion kit attachment that transforms this underperforming marksman rifle into the fully-auto Grau 5.56 assault rifle from Modern Warfare 2019. With this conversion kit, the gun has a very fast time-to-kill and less recoil.

You can add a suppressor and swap to the Infiltrator stock for a faster stealth build, but the Grau conversion will still have some of the Swat's kick. This build offers the most minimal recoil for optimal accuracy.

Again, this build uses the Grau conversion kit, which is unlocked in the free tiers of the battle pass on page 5.

Recommended Swat 5.56 attachments:

  • Optic: Kepler Microflex
  • Muzzle: Compensator
  • Underbarrel: Ranger Foregrip
  • Stock: Heavy Stock
  • Fire Mod: Grau Conversion

CR-56 AMAX

The CR-56 AMAX assault rifle returns to Call of Duty, and just like the Modern Warfare 2019 version, this gun hits like a truck. It still has a slower fire rate and a bit more recoil than the Kilo 141, but it can be a very rewarding and powerful assault rifle to use.

  • Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor
  • Barrel: Long Barrel
  • Underbarrel: Ranger Foregrip
  • Magazine: Extended Mag II
  • Rear Grip: Quickdraw Grip

If you want to turn this into a Gunfight build, you can also add an optic, the Light stock, and Recoil Springs fire mod to get even more out of the CR-56 AMAX.

AS-VAL

The AS-VAL assault rifle is another great choice. This weapon got buffs in Season 3 to improve the gun's maximum range and increase the movement speeds. The recommended attachments will help reduce the gun's recoil and boost the ammo count.

Recommended AS-Val attachments:

  • Barrel: Suppressed Long Barrel
  • Underbarrel: Vertical Foregrip
  • Magazine: Extended Mag II
  • Stock: Full Stock
  • Fire Mod: Recoil Springs

Cypher 091

Season 2's Cypher 091 assault rifle is still a solid choice for multiplayer. The recommended attachments will help boost the gun's bullet velocity and damage range to help its performance in longer range engagements.

Recommended Cypher 091 attachments:

  • Optic: Kepler Microflex
  • Muzzle: Compensator
  • Barrel: Reinforced Barrel
  • Underbarrel: Vertical Foregrip
  • Magazine: Extended Mag II

KSV

Thanks to Season 3's nerf to the Jackal PDW, the KSV submachine gun is now one of the best choices for close-range combat in Season 3. The recommended attachments will help with recoil control and mobility.

Recommended KSV attachments:

  • Muzzle: Compensator
  • Barrel: Long Barrel
  • Underbarrel: Ranger Foregrip
  • Rear Grip: Ergonomic Grip
  • Stock: Balanced Stock

C9

Another solid choice for close-range combat is the C9 submachine gun. The recommended attachments will help with recoil and improve the gun's damage range and bullet velocity. If you want extra ammo, you can always replace the stock with an Extended Mag attachment.

Recommended C9 attachments:

  • Barrel: Reinforced Barrel
  • Underbarrel: Vertical Foregrip
  • Rear Grip: Ergonomic Grip
  • Stock: Balanced Stock
  • Fire Mod: Recoil Springs

HDR

Originally from Modern Warfare 2019, the HDR sniper rifle returns in Season 3. This is a heavy, one-shot sniper rifle, and the recommended attachments will help you improve mobility and provide a better optic choice for multiplayer.

Recommended HDR attachments:

  • Prismatech 4x
  • Barrel: CHF Barrel
  • Magazine: Extended Mag I
  • Stock: Combat Stock
  • Laser: Strelok Laser

This is a good choice for using the Gunfight Wildcard and loading this gun down with attachments. Precision Foregrip underbarrel, Quickdraw Grip rear grip, and Rapid Fire.

ESA Says Tariffs Will Have A "Detrimental Impact" On Entire Gaming Industry, Not Just Nintendo

4 Abril 2025 at 18:45

Earlier today, Nintendo made the unprecedented decision to delay prerelease orders for the Switch 2 in the US in order for the company to "assess the potential impact of tariffs and evolving market conditions." The news follows the Trump Administration announcing its plan to implement steep and controversial tariffs across the globe, with nations such as Japan, Vietnam, China, Canada, Mexico, and the EU facing the worst of these trade penalties. But while Nintendo might be the first company to address the impact these tariffs will have on production, the Entertainment Software Association--the video game industry's trade association that represents most of its major publishers--suspects that this is just the beginning.

In an interview with IGN, ESA spokesperson Aubrey Quinn said that the tariffs being announced the same day as the Switch 2's pricing reveal was "just unfortunate coincidental timing," and that Americans "aren't taking it seriously" if we think think it's just the Switch 2 that will impacted by tariffs.

"It's been interesting with media coverage around video games and tariffs because just unfortunate coincidental timing that the Switch [2 reveal] was the same day as President Trump's announcement. There are so many devices we play video games on. There are other consoles, but as I was saying, VR headsets, our smartphones, people who love PC games, if we think it's just the Switch, then we aren't taking it seriously. This is going to have an impact," Quinn said.

TikTok Has Another 75 Days To Find A Buyer, Trump Says; Walmart Considering A Bid

4 Abril 2025 at 18:22

TikTok's fate in the US will not be decided just yet. US President Donald Trump said today that he will sign an executive order that will keep the social media site running in the US for another 75 days. This is coming about amid reports of Amazon and Walmart reportedly gearing up to make bids to buy the company.

In January 2025, the US Supreme Court upheld TikTok's ban, and the platform briefly went dark. At the time, Trump extended the deadline for TikTok to find a US buyer until April 4, and now he's extended this again for another 75 days, ending June 18.

Today, Trump said he wants to "save TikTok" and that there has been "tremendous progress" thus far in the process of trying to find a buyer. However, he said a deal needs more time to come together, so he's signing a new executive order that will keep TikTok online in the US for at least another 75 days.

Smaller Game Studios Are Struggling To Get Nintendo Switch 2 Dev Kits - Report

4 Abril 2025 at 14:05

A new report suggests that many AA and indie studios have been unable to secure development kits for Nintendo Switch 2 ahead of its launch this June.

Several game developers from AA and indie studios spoke to The Game Business, who revealed their complaints in a recent newsletter. "New console audiences are often willing to try new things at the start, so we were desperate to get our hands on dev kits early. Nintendo has finally responded to us, but we still don’t think we’ll get anything for a few months," a AA game studio co-founder told The Game Business.

Generally, the developers The Game Business spoke to didn't seem to think a large bump for indie games would arrive alongside the Switch 2 launch. They're still hoping to learn more about the process of acquiring a Switch 2 development kit from Nintendo now that more information about the system is public knowledge.

From Software Is Not Abandoning Single-Player Games, Studio Boss Says

4 Abril 2025 at 13:55

From Software has two known games in development currently--with one set to be released very soon--and both of them are built around a core multiplayer experience. Elden Ring: Nightreign offers a co-op souls-like adventure, while Switch 2 exclusive The Duskbloods is heavily focused on PvPvE gameplay. This has raised some concern amongst From Software fans that the studio will develop more multiplayer games in the future, but From Software boss and Duskbloods director Hidetaka Miyazaki says that the developer isn't shifting exclusively to online multiplayer games.

"As previously mentioned, this is an online multiplayer title at its core, but this doesn’t mean that we as a company have decided to shift to a more multiplayer-focused direction with titles going forward," Miyazaki said in a Nintendo interview. "The Nintendo Switch 2 version of Elden Ring was also announced, and we still intend to actively develop single-player-focused games such as this that embrace our more traditional style."

Miyazaki also spoke more about the setting, characters, and themes of The Duskbloods, explaining how players will control a group of characters known as the Bloodsworn. Starring a group of superhuman warriors that are similar to vampires, Miyazaki said that the game takes place during the end of human society and revolves around the Bloodsworn chasing after something known as First Blood. The Duskbloods--which was originally pitched for the Switch--will launch for Switch 2 in 2026.

Switch 2 First-Party Game Sizes Are Apparently Pretty Manageable, At Least So Far

4 Abril 2025 at 13:41

Leave it to Nintendo to attempt to keep game file sizes from growing too large in an age of titles taking up over 100GB of storage space on consoles. A few first-party Switch 2 games apparently won't even top 10GB, with Mario Kart World the only listed title so far racing past the 20GB mark.

The digital Nintendo Store for the US hasn't listed Switch 2 games yet but apparently the Japanese storefront has (via IGN). The site reportedly lists four Switch 2 titles so far, along with the space taken by the Nintendo GameCube app for Switch Online + Expansion Pack premium members.

  • Mario Kart World - 23.4GB
  • Donkey Kong Bananza - 10GB
  • Super Mario Party Jamboree - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Jamboree TV - 7.7GB
  • Kirby and the Forgotten Land - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Star-Crossed World - 5.7GB
  • Nintendo GameCube app - 3.5GB

Switch 2 will feature 256GB of internal storage space, with the ability to increase the size with microSD Express cards. That means Mario Kart World--if bought digitally--will take up just under 10% of the built-in storage for the hybrid system. Meanwhile, Cyberpunk 2077 will fit on a 64GB physical Switch 2 game card, so presumably will take up similar space digitally. Nintendo has also revealed Game-Key Cards that work similarly to physical cards but don't have the game stored locally on them. Instead, they work as a way to download a title but still must be inserted into Switch 2 to play.

From Software's Switch 2 Exclusive Was Originally Pitched For The Original Switch

4 Abril 2025 at 13:36

One of the most surprising announcements from the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct earlier this week was The Duskbloods, a new eight-player PvPvE project from Elden Ring and Bloodborne developer From Software. While some may have assumed that this new game was always meant for Nintendo's new console, a recent interview posted to the official Nintendo website reveals a different story.

Nintendo posted an interview with From Software director Hidetaka Miyazaki to speak about The Duskbloods, which is filled with more details about the game and its development origins. In Part 1 of the interview, Miyazaki confirms that From Software and Nintendo met regarding an exclusive project well before the Switch 2's details were completed, and that the project was kicked off with the original Switch in mind.

"At first, it was being worked on by a small team as a title for Nintendo Switch," Miyazaki says in the interview. "However, just as the game started to take shape, we were approached by Nintendo with talk of Switch 2, which led us to revamp our development path with this new hardware in mind."
