Switching it up.
Nintendo's highly anticipated Switch 2 Direct has come and gone — and while we'll obviously be leaving coverage of the event itself up to our friends at Nintendo Life, we still want to know what the Push Square community thinks about the Big N's new console.
Set for release on the 5th June — it's only a couple of months off! — the Switch 2 looks a serious step up from the original Switch in terms of hardware specifications. Everyone expected as much given how many years it's been, but we're looking at a hybrid console that's about on par with the PS4 Pro in terms of technical heft.

The Duskbloods is a Switch 2 exclusive.
One of the most surprising announcements to come from today's Nintendo Switch 2 Direct is a new FromSoftware title: The Duskbloods. With very heavy Bloodborne and Elden Ring vibes, it's another new IP from the Japanese studio that's — perhaps surprisingly — multiplayer-centric. You can catch the reveal trailer above.
What was even more unexpected, however, is that The Duskbloods is exclusive to Nintendo Switch 2, launching in 2026.

FromSoftware introduces Ironeye.
Elden Ring Nightreign studio FromSoftware has introduced another of its playable characters for the upcoming online spin-off to its 2022 smash hit. Ironeye is their name, and they're bringing a bow and arrow to the ever-changing Limveld along with some seriously flashy parkour moves. See them in action in the new trailer above.
While the footage is brief, we see the character damage enemies at a distance with the ability to shoot multiple arrows at once, climb up buildings to shoot enemies in mid-air, and even stagger foes if they're shot in the back. One final move seems to tease the ability to shoot arrows through multiple enemies, where they don't lose their speed or impact having torn through the first monster.

After months of waiting – perhaps even years for some – the Nintendo Switch 2 will get its long-awaited blowout today.
Alarmingly, as we write this, very little has leaked. We know there’ll be a new Mario Kart game for the console, as it was revealed alongside the system itself. Other than that, though, there’s an air of mystery around the machine.

British developer Rebellion has revealed last week's release of Atomfall marks the studio's biggest launch in its history, with 1.5 million people playing the PS5, PS4 detective gem. The game released on Xbox Game Pass on day one, which will have helped to bolster its player stats.
What's worth noting, though, is Rebellion's other 2025 game, Sniper Elite: Resistance, also launched on the subscription service. Therefore, Atomfall is still proving more popular than past efforts from Rebellion despite the delivery method.

Craig Mazin, showrunner on HBO's The Last of Us TV adaptation, has commented on concerns about Bella Ramsey's appearance in the upcoming Season 2.
Ramsey (21) has a very youthful appearance, which worked rather well for playing a 14-year-old Ellie in The Last of Us Season 1. However, fans have been worried that, despite the character being five years older in Season 2, Ramsey hasn't changed as much as Ellie does across the two games, looking too young to play the part.

Historically, March has always been a busy month for new releases, as publishers look to squeeze things out just before the end of the fiscal year — and March 2025 was no different.
Last month was peppered with new PS5 games of all shapes and sizes, with extremely highly rated co-op romp Split Fiction kicking things off in the first week. The dreadfully named Suikoden I & II HD Remaster: Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars arrived just a couple of days later, serving up something completely different.

Ahead of the latest US sales charts, Circana (formerly NPD) analyst Mat Piscatella has given us some insight into how well Assassin's Creed Shadows performed, following its launch on the 20th March.
According to Circana's data, Ubisoft's open world RPG immediately cemented itself amongst the best-selling games of 2025 so far, ranking in the top five for dollar sales. But more impressively, it's the year's second best-selling title in terms of week one dollar sales, beaten only by the mega hit that is Monster Hunter Wilds.

Fall Guys has been around for the best part of five years, and has gone through many changes in that time, but now, developer Mediatonic is finally implementing a much-requested feature: Ranked Knockout.
Available in the game now as part of the latest update, Ranked Knockout does what it says on the tin — the clumsy elimination game as you know it, only with a tiered ranking system, as seen in basically every other modern competitive title.

For us, Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy was one of those PS2 games that we used to see all the time in the preowned sections of GAME shops — and over 20 years later, it's making a surprise comeback.
Okay, that was a bit mean. Sphinx was — and hopefully still is — a solid PS2-era action platformer, complete with cooky characters and a fun ancient Egypt setting. It released all the way back in 2003 (it was also available on the Xbox and GameCube), and was much more recently remastered on Nintendo Switch, in 2019.

The latest 'insider' information to do the rounds originates on social media (of course). A user by the name of Detective Seeds — who, to be fair, seems to have a reasonable track record when it comes to Xbox-related stuff — has made headlines with his claim that the Oblivion remake is releasing this week.

Season 2 of Tekken 8 is here, and a huge, game-spanning balance update is available to download right now on PS5.
There was a lot of commotion leading up to this patch, and it's safe to say that it's now causing meltdowns. Having been previewed across a couple of developer videos, the worry was that Season 2 would make the game even more aggressive, bolstering things like the already oppressive Heat system.

Native play beats PS Portal.
Sony's better-than-expected PS Portal device will no longer offer the best handheld experience for The Last of Us 2 Remastered, as developer Naughty Dog has confirmed the Steam Deck will be officially supported when the PC port arrives later this week.
Rather than streaming the game from your PS5 via an internet connection, the PC version will be downloaded and then playable natively from a Steam Deck. This means there won't be any network-related issues to contend with and should play better in effectively every way — as long as there aren't any PC bugs or glitches.
