Here's Your First Look at Agent Smith Gameplay in MultiVersus on PS5, PS4

2 Julio 2024 at 13:30

Arrives later this month.

MultiVersus is about to gain another new character for its playable roster. Agent Smith has been confirmed for the game for a while, but this new trailer gives us our first look at how the character will play in WB Games' free fighter.

As with all the other characters in the game, Agent Smith looks to have a lot of references to his source material within his moveset. As well as using his hand-to-hand skills, he also makes use of pistols to attack opponents, and can even summon a clone of himself — his favourite trick from The Matrix Reloaded. You have to love his dodge animation too, which shows off his ability to dodge speeding bullets.

Konami Producer Would 'Like Nothing Better Than to Work with Hideo Kojima Again'

2 Julio 2024 at 05:00

"That would be the dream".

It seems time heals all wounds, even the grievous ones that linger after a high-profile public breakup. Noriaki Okamura, producer of the upcoming Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater from Konami, has signalled that not only would he be up for working with auteur creator Hideo Kojima again, it's his heart's most fervent desire.

Okamura made the comments in the recently released Metal Gear Production Hotline video (thanks, Gematsu). Making sure to separate his stance from Konami's, the producer was asked if there was any chance that the original staff members would return to work on, co-develop, or supervise any Metal Gear games, to which he replied:

Rekindle Your Romance with The Sims 4's Upcoming Lovestruck DLC

2 Julio 2024 at 04:00

WooHoo!

Love is in the air, at least for the amorous inhabitants of The Sims 4, with EA revealing that its upcoming Lovestruck expansion is all about romance and infatuation. A surprisingly raunchy trailer for the DLC offering shows off the kinds of moves inhabitants of the free-to-play social sim will be able to pull when it launches on 25th July, and preorders or purchases through until 5th September will be rewarded with the additional Heartbreak Happens Digital Content pack.

Players can look forward to customizing their Sim's Cupid's Corner dating app and meeting interested others for intimate interactions such as cuddling in bed or some steamy, seductive dancing. At an expensive $59.95 (or your local equivalent), we hope the offering is appropriately robust and that interested punters' most fervent desires are met.

The Emperor Protects? Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 Dev Cancels Public Stress Test

2 Julio 2024 at 03:00

Flying in the face of Guilliman's sacred Codex.

Developer Saber Interactive and publisher Focus Entertainment have confirmed that Space Marine 2's public stress test, scheduled to take place before the games' 9th September release, will no longer be going ahead. Claiming to be entirely focused on optimisation, polish, and bug fixes, the powers that be say: "Space Marine 2 is almost ready... This means we will not run a public online beta, as it would take the development teams away from preparing for the full launch, and our priority is to ensure the best possible experience at release."

Acknowledging that this news may be disappointing, the unique Porphyr Shield Bolt Pistol skin will be made available to those who registered via online signup before 28th June, which is something at least. Space Marine 2 will ship with both PVP and PVE multiplayer modes, so testing those modes before launch, at scale, seems like good tactical sense to us. Still, we suppose the developers know best, and we hope the game's multiplayer servers can handle what we suspect will be many, many more Space Marines than are customarily allowed by Primarch Roboute Guilliman's sacred tome of strategy and military organisation, the Codex Astartes.

Golden Order Restored as Elden Ring's Shadow of the Erdtree Recovers from Review Bombing

2 Julio 2024 at 02:00

Mostly Positive, soon to be Overwhelmingly so.

Frustrated Elden Ring players who jumped into the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, ignored tutorial messages, and expected a cake-walk, vented their spleens by review bombing the DLC on Steam. This caused the critically acclaimed offering to drop to Mixed, although, in fairness, the PC version was also plagued by performance issues. Now, balance seems to have been restored to the Lands Between, as the wonderfully generous addition has recovered to a Mostly Positive rating.

Noted by Eurogamer, we like to think those who initially took part in the bombing campaign had a legitimate change of heart en masse and returned to right their wrongful reviews after taking time to appreciate the scale of FromSoftware's achievement. Alas, it's more likely the result of the massive influx of new players, which caused Elden Ring to appear not once but twice in the UK sales charts for the month of June.

Random: Unfortunate Eyeless Arachnid Named After Least-Appealing Monster Hunter Beasty

2 Julio 2024 at 01:00

Don't look now.

A new species of eyeless spider has been discovered in China. While we don't think the discovery of another arachnid should ever be a cause for celebration, notably, the person responsible for bringing this nightmare to light has decided to name it after the worst of all Monster Hunter monstrosities.

Spotted by VG247, the little arachnid popped up on the Monster Hunter subreddit, dubbed the Otacilia Khezu, apparently honouring the classic Capcom monstrosity, the Khezu. Included in virtually every Monster Hunter game since the series' inception, the Khezu is horrible, a sightless wyvern whose pale, rubbery hide must remain relatively damp. Those who would instead rather check out the infinitely more appealing spider can find more details here.

Shocking: There's a New Resident Evil Game in Development

1 Julio 2024 at 23:30

Directed by Koshi Nakanishi.

The Resident Evil series is so consistent in its release schedule and overall quality that it hardly needs pointing out, but Capcom has revealed it has a new entry in the horror IP in active development. Resident Evil 7: Biohazard lead Koshi Nakanishi is returning as director for the production of the new game, which will presumably be the sequel to Resident Evil Village.

During the Capcom Next livestream, Nakanishi said: "We're making a new Resident Evil. It was really difficult to figure out what to do after . But I found it, and to be honest, it feels substantial. I can't share any details just yet, but I hope you’re excited for the day I can."

1 Julio 2024 at 23:15

Priced at £44.99 / $49.99.

Just days after its surprise announcement, Capcom has confirmed the Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster will launch for PS5 on 19th September 2024 via the PS Store. As part of the Capcom Next livestream, the publisher covered lots of quality-of-life improvements to go alongside the visual overhaul. Capcom's Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess Demo Out Now on PS5, PS4

1 Julio 2024 at 23:00

Path to enlightenment.

If you're not quite sold on Capcom's upcoming action game, Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess, then you may be pleased to learn that a playable demo's out now on PS5 and PS4. The publisher's already shown plenty of gameplay footage for this one, but it does feel like one of those titles where actually playing it could make all the difference.

The demo doesn't have a time limit or anything like that, and it's set across several of the game's stages. Kunitsu-Gami got some glowing hands-on previews from Summer Game Fest 2024 — including our own — so we'd definitely recommend checking the demo out.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard Caters to All with Completely Customisable Difficulty Settings

1 Julio 2024 at 21:00

You can even toggle death.

Upcoming RPG Dragon Age: The Veilguard will feature a full suite of customisable difficulty options. A new Game Informer article reveals that alongside your typical premade settings — Storyteller, Adventurer, and Nightmare — you'll be able to adjust individual values in order to create your own custom difficulty.

You can tweak fundamental stuff like incoming and outgoing damage, along with how aggressive enemies are in general. On top of that, you can rebalance the more skill-based elements — which is obviously a big deal given how action-focused The Veilguard's combat system is. Aim assist can be altered — complete with what sounds like a total auto-aim toggle — and parry windows can be shortened or extended to suit your needs.
