Nintendo there from the start with The Duskbloods.

Despite its next two revealed games in Elden Ring Nightreign and The Duskbloods being focused on multiplayer, studio FromSoftware is stressing it hasn't abandoned its bread and butter: single player titles.

In a new interview with Nintendo following the Switch 2 Direct that unveiled The Duskbloods, director Hidetaka Miyazaki said the developer "still intends to actively develop single player focused games" like Elden Ring that "embrace our more traditional style".

Due to "creative" issues on TV project.

Sony has made the decision to change its Horizon Zero Dawn adaptation from a TV show with Netflix to a movie.

Talking to Variety, the PlayStation Productions lead Asad Qizilbash said the TV project in collaboration with Netflix was not "creatively going how we wanted to". Now, a Horizon Zero Dawn film will be made instead. Qizilbash also said as part of the interview that Sony is considering turning Astro Bot into a feature film.

Only 5% of PS5 fans “don’t have a problem” with $80 games. The remaining 95% are against a hypothetical price increase, as could become a reality due to Nintendo’s pricing of Mario Kart World.

But of the 1,500 gamers polled, 30% said they would “grudgingly” cough up the increased fee for “select titles”. It’d be interesting to know which franchises fans deem worthy of the price; we’d assume blockbusters like GTA and God of War.

Sony considering an adaptation.

Sony could turn its excellent platforming franchise Astro Bot into a movie in the future, as PlayStation Productions lead Asad Qizilbash has confirmed the company is "absolutely" considering a film adaptation.

Expanding on the suggestion, Qizilbash explained to Variety how Sony picked up on last year's PS5 entry earning many awards and building up an audience of enthusiasts. "Those are very early indicators for us to want to try and grow that franchise and grow that IP. So we’re constantly looking at that."

Releasing in theatres tomorrow, 4th April 2025, the A Minecraft Movie adapts the obscenely popular video game for the big screen. It stars the likes of Jack Black, Jason Momoa, and Emma Myers, with critic reviews now live.

Skills and holsters are all gone.

Naughty Dog deployed update 2.0 for the PS5 version of The Last of Us 2 Remastered earlier today to coincide with the PC port's release, but if you still have the option to, you might be better off cancelling the download for now.

PS5 players in the middle of a playthrough of the game are reporting in their droves that patch 2.0 has broken all of the character upgrades they've unlocked so far, removing them altogether. Depending on where you are in the game, this could leave either Ellie or Abby with no enhancements and no additional holsters to quickly equip other weapons from.

Mixed reports published for TLOU2 Remastered.

The technical issues that Sony and its in-house PC porting specialist team Nixxes are encountering when bringing PS5 exclusives to desktops and Steam Deck don't appear to be going away, as with The Last of Us 2 Remastered launching on PC today, analysis from outlets reveals more flaws.

Websites like PC Gamer and Digital Foundry agree the sequel's PC port is much, much better than the disaster that was The Last of Us: Part 1 at launch. However, the follow-up isn't without its own problems. Digital Foundry reports "intense frame-time disruption" when entering new areas, and despite running on superior hardware, the recommended medium settings produce worse graphics in certain situations than the original PS4 version.

VR port finally hit its target.

Hitman in VR is a match seemingly made in heaven, but whether it was on PSVR, PCVR or Meta Quest, IO Interactive has never seemed to get it quite right.

The ill-fated PSVR release with Hitman 3 in 2021 was an admirable attempt, although shocking motion tracking through the DualShock 4 (?!) meant it felt like a half measure. However, IO is giving it yet another go with Sony’s flashier PSVR2, and y’know what? We think it’s finally got it right.

Nintendo Switch 2 is certainly a step up from the original console, but we’re still waiting to see just how closely it compares to the PS5 and its superior mid-gen successor, the PS5 Pro.

Naturally, as a hybrid which can be played portably, fans expecting the same levels of performance as a stationary system will be disappointed – but the fact the format’s running releases like Cyberpunk 2077 and Star Wars Outlaws suggests it may be able to run genuine current-gen games.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 studio Sandfall Interactive has shared some light details surrounding how its imminent RPG will perform on PS5 systems, including the PS5 Pro.

On the base PS5, there'll be Performance and Quality Modes that allow you to prioritise either the framerate or visuals. If you've got a PS5 Pro, then you can "also look forward to enhanced performance". The developer hasn't shared any extra details about what sort of resolutions or framerates the two modes will run at, however.
