Hoy — 23 Noviembre 2024Welcome to R/3D Printing! Come for the Benchy, stay for the Calibration!

To all you bed gluers, I owe you an apology

I used to think that bed additives were a crutch, that adding glue or hairspray to your bed was just a band-aid for bad settings.

I've been having issues with ABS warping and tried all the things. Proper first layer squish, enclosed printer, fan settings, and a fresh pei sheet.

I added a glue stick for a couple of prints and they're turning out amazing. Just a simple Elmer's glue stick on the bed and all of my problems are gone. That's all, point and laugh at me or say that I'm doing something wrong with my settings, at the end of the day I have beautiful prints coming out.

Ahh(hhh!!) Memories

Ahh(hhh!!) Memories

Google photos decided to show me this (flashback nightmare) photo from 4 1/2 years ago. I wasn't active in the community back then. So here's one for your amusement.

Printed Watch Project

Printed Watch Project

This is part of an ongoing project spearheaded by James at The Printable Watch. The watch case, caseback, chapter ring, and movement holder are printed. Elegoo Neptune 4 Pro, Overture Matte PLA, .1mm layer height.

The watch is an NH35 base with a San Martin dial I pilfered from another watch, hands from Namoki, and strap from Strap Habit.

Update: Ender 3 Pro Stator Winder

Update: Ender 3 Pro Stator Winder

It works! Sort of... Video can be found here: @OJengineering-r6l

Here is an update on the progress of my Ender 3 Pro stator winder, I am trying to find a cost effective solution to replacing stator winding. The process takes months and costs $1000s of dollars. The goal is to have something any motorcycle or motor enthusiast can use to cheaply fix shorted coils. Using an Ender 3 Pro as an xyz platform, I made a python program that can export a gcode file generated from parameters entered by the user. When printed it will pause, to load wire and run in a rectangle shape around the stator, increasing and decreasing in height to distribute the wire.

Issues and bugs... I want to implement a resistivity equation into the program that can take gauge and target ohm values to work out the amount of wire needed, fix the flimsy clear piece so the wire can have more tension and cleaner wrapping. The bending of the clear pipe is stopping the wire from wrapping along the top giving it a larger coil width at the bottom.

Anyone else just downvoting printer box pictures?

I know you’re excited but get it out of the box. Also we know your wife actually is not going to be mad. Just show us your setup and first print (a gift to you wife that you love) 😁

Bigtreetechs answer to the AMS

Bigtreetechs answer to the AMS

I had a look at the Multi-Color-System of Bigtreetech today at Formnext in Frankfurt. It is supposed to cost around 200-300€ depending on wether or not you want it heated. Also it's compatible to Klipper and was running with a Voron.

I don't know about you guys, but I am really hyped about this.

Introducing the stupidest thing i’ve ever modeled…

Introducing the stupidest thing i’ve ever modeled…

If you don’t get it just let that sink in for a bit…

I wanted to try my hand at a print-in-place model and I was inspired by i3Dprint’s “Just in Case” model on makerworld (https://makerworld.com/models/795148).
