Designed a toe cap for my medical boot

Designed a toe cap for my medical boot

Felt a little like I was wearing sandals with socks, so I designed this to:

  1. make it look a little more like a complete shoe
  2. protect my exposed-sock from the rain
  3. I swear there's a draft in my office and this immediately made my toes feel less cold

Unfortunately I only have PLA, so this won't be good for sunny days, but maybe this is my sign to buy some PETG. The last photo shows the the tabs that clip into the buckles for the front strap; that's the only thing holding the cap on and it works pretty well despite my less-than-perfect measurements.

21700 battery holder

21700 battery holder

This is in progress. I needed to be able to temporarily use these 21700 batteries in series. I didn't like the existing option, and these threads hold the plates against the batteries well.

The ultimate plan is to weld them into a 6S3P battery. (Different BMS than pictured.) I guess this might become a full fledged battery bank? Or maybe just a temp battery balancer.

Also note my Mac Mini M4 ran fine with this and a PD trigger/ PD out!

Wire Closet Shelf and Rod End Cap

Wire Closet Shelf and Rod End Cap

This is the exact kind of thing I wanted a 3D printer for! My wire closet shelf has been missing its end cap for as long as I've lived in this house, and I've just dealt with the hangers occasionally getting pushed too far and falling off the rod.

I had a grand total of 1 remaining in the closet, so I was able to quickly model up a replica in Fusion and send it off to print. Total time from firing up the computer to slapping the printed end cap on my closet was around 30 minutes. About the same time it would take me to go to the hardware store and back, but way cheaper.

Made some Lovecraftian Coasters with cork inserts on my Laser H2D that slots into my Wyrmwood Modular Gaming table.

Decided to mess around with mixing 3D printing and laser cutting and ended up making these little Lovecraftian coasters. The symbols are laser cut into cork inserts that drop into the printed bases, and I’m honestly pretty happy with how they turned out.

I also made a holder for them, one that just sits on the table and another version that fits into a Wyrmwood modular table slot.

If you wanna print for yourself:

Audio Equipment Riser

Audio Equipment Riser

At my desk, I have three audio sources (PC, PS4, and a record player), and two audio outputs (speakers, headphones). So I have a cheap mixer and switch to manage this.

But they were tucked away behind my keyboard and under my monitor, and it was pretty awkward to use the controls, especially when the monitor is lowered.

So I designed and printed a little riser that just tilts them both forward, and now it's ten times easier to use!

Printed in glass fiber ABS, 0.2mm layer height, 2 perimeters, 10% rectilinear infill. No fuzzy skin. The filament already has a great texture by itself.
