Hi, I am planning to get a HP InfiniBand 10GB/40GB Dual Port 544+FLR-QSFP card for 40gb networking. I wanted to check that it solid work in a standard PCIE slot (on my dell poweredge servers).

Edit: I found a cheap pcie 8x to FLR adapter, if I used it with that would there be any firmware/driver issues? Do I even need an adapter board or can I jam it into the pcie socket.

Hi, I am using Veeam backup and replication to backup my NAS (containing files and Time Machine backups, etc.) to tape. Should I be using file to tape directly from the NAS (connected to Veeam already) or should I be creating a tar of the NAS first before pushing the tar to tape (via file to tape)? Would doing so make my backups faster and preserve the longevity of the tapes? Thank you!
