Earlier this year, CD Projekt Red released REDkit, the official modding tool for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. While that opened up a world of possibilities for PC players, the core game has just received an incredible visual upgrade that may even surpass the title's 2022 next-gen update.
A modder who goes by Halk Hogan released The Witcher 3 HD Reworked Project: Next Gen Edition, which claims to raise "the game's visuals to the highest level yet and enhance it to a truly next-gen masterpiece." To back up those remarks, Halk Hogan has posted a 15-minute side-by-side comparison on YouTube that shows off the improvements.
The Witcher 3 HD Reworked Project: Next Gen Edition is now available on NexusMods. According to the description, "Everything is carefully made with attention to every detail. All this is aimed at making the game more detailed, realistic, consistent and as faithful as possible reflecting the atmosphere of the dirty world of the Witcher."
In October 2023, CD Projekt announced a partnership with Anonymous Content for a live-action project set in the world of Cyberpunk 2077. But how is this project coming along? And what is the status of the previously announced new Cyberpunk anime for Netflix?
CD Projekt management said on an earnings call today, November 26, that the Cyberpunk 2077 live-action project remains in the conceptual stage, but it has progressed beyond where it was a year ago when it was announced. However, management confirmed it's not yet being shopped to potential streamers/studios, but that could happen as soon as within the next 12 months.
In terms of the funding for the concept, CD Projekt is funding this--but not the full project if and when it goes into production. "We would not be funding the whole shooting of the live-action project. That is not in the plan," the company said, adding that the cost of this early production package would not be comparable to the production cost for the entire show.

After debuting on Nintendo Switch and mobile devices earlier this year, Star Wars Hunters will soon be blasting its way to a new platform. Zynga has announced that the free-to-play arena shooter will be entering the PC arena as a free download on Steam Early Access in 2025.
The PC port will feature graphical and performance upgrades, including improved textures, shadows, and rendering quality. The port will also include support for keyboard and mouse along with wireless controllers, and keybinding will be available on all control schemes for custom layouts.

The PC version of Star Wars Hunters marks the first Zynga-published game on the PC, after the Nintendo Switch version of the game was the company's first-ever console game earlier this year. The Switch and mobile versions have seen multiple seasonal updates since the game's launch, with the most recent season adding the Zabrak archer Nox to the playable roster.
Australia has built a reputation as having one of the strictest video game rating systems on the planet, and it appears as though another highly anticipated game won't reach the country's shores when it's released next year.
Hunter x Hunter Nen x Impact, the fighting game based on the popular anime, has been refused classification by the Australian Classification Board (ACB), officially preventing the game from being sold in the country. The group listed no reason for the decision, but with the ACB having set a precedent with other games with similar ratings, and the reasoning behind them, it could be a few possibilities.
The main suspected reason is how drug use has a gameplay benefit, like granting speed or strength, or portraying drug use in a positive light. For example, if a character even gets health restored from narcotics, that game would likely be refused classification (RC). Disco Elysium: The Final Cut was originally banned because of this, but that decision was later overturned after the ACB agreed that player performance actually showed "negative impacts from depictions of drug use."

Section 9 Interactive, a studio composed of former Tarsier Studios devs responsible for the first two Little Nightmares games, has announced today it's inked a deal with Epic Games Publishing to bring its upcoming game to PC and consoles. The game doesn't have an announced name yet, but by the looks of it, some of the Little Nightmares aesthetic will carry over into this debut project from the studio.
Despite the creepy enemies and shadowy atmosphere, the studio doesn't describe the game as horror. Instead, it considers it a "sci-fi action-adventure" game built in Unreal Engine 5. Still, some of the enemies shown in the game's work-in-progress assets like the one below have a certain "In space, no one can hear you scream" vibe about them. No release window has yet been revealed.

For Epic, this signing follows its most high-profile work yet in Alan Wake 2, which launched last year on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5 to universal acclaim. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 didn't make fans wait for the first two zombie maps, which launched alongside the game at the end of October. And in the first cinematic trailer for the new map, the team runs into an old friend, Sergei Ravenov.

But this isn't a social call, as the team is looking for a man named Craft who "may be able to bring back Maxis." Presumably they're referring to Samantha Maxis, an adversary-turned-ally before her untimely demise when she sacrificed herself to seal the Dark Aether portal.
Sergei seems to be intrigued by Maya Aguinaldo, the team's new addition. However, he's less than thrilled to see that they're working with William Peck. The team's goals may align with Peck's for now, but he's almost certainly going to betray them at some point, even if he did arrange their escape from Terminus.

The first Resident Evil film set the tone for the film franchise, as it adapted elements from the existing games and weaved them into a story about a mercenary team--and Milla Jovocich's amnesiac character Alice--infiltrating one of Umbrella Corporation's secret bases to stop a doomsday scenario. From there, the film series became increasingly ridiculous, as the nearby Racoon City was overrun with infected people, Alice got psychic powers for a while, and the human race faced extinction after the virus spread across the planet.

Project Polaris, the codename for the next Witcher game, has crossed a major milestone: It's now officially in full production. CD Projekt made the announcement today, November 26, as part of the company's wider earnings briefing.
Game director Sebastian Kalemba said the game--unofficially know as The Witcher 4--has "entered the full-scale production phase," following a period of pre-production. "With new challenges just around the corner, it's the talented and hard-working people who make me believe we can together make the upcoming Witcher Saga a remarkable experience. No stopping now! Stay tuned for what's on the other side of the coin!," he said.

The majority of CD Projekt's development staff, totaling 400 of 650 total staffers, are now working on Polaris. This is actually down from 410 people as of July 31, 2024, before the game entered full production.

Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince flew under the radar last December when it launched as a Nintendo Switch exclusive, which is unfortunate since fans have been waiting since 2011 for a DQM game to release outside of Japan. The Dark Prince is a fun role-playing game with a ton of depth that deserves more attention.
You play as the antagonist from Dragon Quest IV, Psaro, prior to the events of that game. Cursed and unable to harm anything with monster blood, Psaro quickly discovers a loophole that allows monsters under his control to unleash some violence on his behalf. From there, Psaro embarks on a quest to capture more powerful creatures and combine them into new forms using his synthesis powers.
There are over 500 monsters to scout, battle, and assist you on your journey, and when they're not powerful enough, you can create unique fusions to help you survive the dangerous environments of Nadiria. The mainline can take anywhere from 40-50 hours, but there's easily 100-plus hours worth of content here if you want to see and collect everything.
The Dark Prince is no longer a Switch exclusive, as it was ported to PC and Android in September. Dragon Quest Monsters is quite different from the mainline series, but if you like Pokemon games, The Dark Prince is for sure worth trying, especially for only 30 bucks.

Its two plans are usually relatively affordable, but they’re cheaper than ever during Black Friday. From now until December2, you can sign up for a Peacock annual plan for just $20 (normally $80/year) or a monthly plan for $2/per month (normally $8/month).
As enticing as these deals are, they come with a few limitations. For one, only new subscribers who aren’t currently paying for Peacock Premium or Premium Plus are eligible for the savings. The monthly plan discount also only applies for six months, after which it will revert to its usual $8/month.

Normally $159, the Studio3 headphones offer very solid value at this price, as they block out noise fairly well and are equipped with Apple's W1 Headphone Chip. Walmart has black, gray, and white color options for this price.
Amazon has the Beats Solo 4 for $100 (was $200). This is a solid headset with decent audio and a good, stylish build quality. The original $200 price is too high--you're paying for the brand name--but it's a good deal at $100.
The Solo 4 headphones have very good battery life. You can get up to 50 hours of playback on a full charge. Better yet, 10 minutes of charging can replenish five hours of listening time.
