Until Dawn Movie Adaptation Releases On Digital, 4K Blu-Ray Preorders Are Live

While movie adaptations of video games can be very hit or miss, Until Dawn was one of the more memorable projects thanks to the film putting its own spin on the game's choose-your-own-design mechanics. In case you missed it on the big screen, Until Dawn is now available to watch from the comfort of your own couch. You can rent or buy the digital release from Prime Video for $20-$25. If you prefer physical media and don't mind waiting, Until Dawn's 4K Blu-ray combo pack is up for preorder at Amazon and Walmart ahead of its July 8 release date.

Until Dawn is the third video game film adaptation from PlayStation Productions following Uncharted and Gran Turismo. The production company, which was founded in 2019, is also credited with the TV adaptations of Twisted Metal and the critically acclaimed HBO series The Last of Us.

Until Dawn (4K Blu-ray + Blu-ray + Digital)

$50 | Releases July 8

Until Dawn's 4K Blu-ray edition also comes a 1080p Blu-ray disc and digital copy of the film. Along with native 4K resolution, Until Dawn will support Dolby Atmos audio on supported devices.

Amazon and Walmart have the 4K Blu-ray combo pack priced at $50 at the moment. That said, we expect the price to drop prior to launch. Both retailers offer preorder price guarantees, so you'll be eligible for any future discounts from the moment you place your order until your Blu-ray ships.

Until Dawn is also getting a DVD release, in case you want to experience the horror film in spine-tingling 480p resolution. Amazon has the DVD version priced at $28.60, while Walmart listed it for $35.

Here's the full list of Until Dawn special features:

  • Adapting a Nightmare - Director David F. Sandberg and writer Gary Dauberman discuss the inspirations of the film and how they built off of the game world from the hit PlayStation game.
  • Death-Defying Cast - Meet the cast
  • Practical Terrors - A look at the practical effects and props used to garner realistic reactions from the actors and actresses.p
  • Audio Commentary with director David F. Sandberg and producer Lotta Losten
  • Deleted and extended scenes

Until Dawn on Prime Video

Buy for $25 / Rent for $20 | Available Now

If you don't want to wait, you can rent Until Dawn for $20 or buy a digital copy for $25. If you buy the film, you can watch it whenever you want, but rentals on Prime Video have a couple of rules to keep in mind. You'll have 30 days to start watching the movie after making your purchase. Once the movie begins, it will be returned to Amazon in 48 hours. Your rental/purchase grants access to the 4K and standard definition versions of Until Dawn.

In case you missed it, Until Dawn tells an original story and is set within the same universe as the game. Connecting the video game and the film is Stormare's character, Dr. Hill, who appeared in both mediums. Another nod to the game is that the movie has the same tone and vibe, as the main characters find themselves caught in a time-loop where they frequently die due to a variety of grisly means. The only way to break this vicious cycle is to survive…until dawn. The film has received mixed reviews, but if you're in the mood for a cheesy horror-comedy with slick direction, Until Dawn is an enjoyable watch.

Tolkien Collectible Book Sets Are Up For Preorder - Myths, Legends, Tales Of Middle-earth

J.R.R. Tolkien fans can soon add two display-worthy book box sets to their collection. Tolkien Myths and Legends Box Set, which features lesser-known original works and translations of classic English literature, releases on June 10. It will be followed up on August 19 by new editions of The Great Tales of Middle-earth, which is comprised of the final three prose novels set in Tolkien's iconic fantasy world. The new hardcover box sets feature lavish cover art and display cases. They are considered the fifth and sixth entries in a series of hardcover book box sets that debuted last year with the The History of Middle-earth, which was published by William Morrow in its entirety across four beautiful collections.

Tolkien Myths and Legends Hardcover Box Set (2025)

$125 | Releases June 10

The Tolkien Myths and Legends Box Set is a unique collection of J.R.R. Tolkien's work, because it doesn't contain stories about Middle-earth. Instead, as the title suggests, it compiles classic myths and legends, two of which were written by the author, while the other two were personal translations of some of his favorite works that inspired him.

Like the vast majority of his posthumously published work, these were pieced together and edited by his son, Christopher Tolkien. Each hardcover book comes with a double-sided dust jacket. Just like The History of Middle-earth Box Sets, one side features elaborate artwork, while the other side has a more subdued aesthetic with solid colors. The four books come packaged in an eye-catching display case.

Sir Gawain and the Green Knight / Orfeo / Pearl: Translations of a trio of classic epic poems juxtaposed with Tolkien's famous 1953 lecture on Sir Gawain.

The Legend of Sigurd and Gudrún: An epic verse poem by Tolkien. It was inspired by classic poetry and Norse mythology. Along with Tolkien's composition, you'll find notes and commentary from Christopher Tolkien.

The Fall of Arthur: A narrative poem written by Tolkien that chronicles King Arthur's final days. The book includes extensive notes made by Tolkien while drafting his only Arthurian legend. Fans of The Silmarillion will want to read this one, as it clearly inspired the plot of Tolkien's Arthurian-esque Middle-earth book.

Beowulf: One of the most famous--and the oldest known---epic poem of Old English literature, Beowulf has received many translations. Tolkien wrote his translation in 1926 and then circled back later. In addition to the translation of the original poem, this book contains a plethora of commentary by Tolkien himself, which will give readers a glimpse into the mind of Tolkien the scholar.

If you're interested in the Myths and Legends Box Set, you should also check out The Collected Poems of J.R.R. Tolkien, a massive three-volume hardcover box that released last fall. The gorgeous box set, which is on sale for nearly 50% off, compiles Tolkien's life's work as a poet and clocks in at over 1,700 pages.

The Great Tales of Middle-earth Hardcover Box Set (2025)

$125 | Releases August 19

The Great Tales of Middle-earth is a must-read collection for all dedicated fans of The Lord of the Rings. Though understandably not nearly as well-known as The Hobbit, LOTR, or even The Silmarillion, the trio of novels in this set are the final pieces of prose fiction that take place across the author's iconic brilliant fantasy world. All of the stories take place during Middle-earth's First Age, so while written and published later than Tolkien's other books, these are the oldest full-length stories in Middle-earth.

The new 2025 hardcover editions come with reversible dust jackets and feature special color plates, pencil drawings, and illustrated maps by Christopher Tolkien and beloved LOTR illustrator Alan Lee.

Here are the three books you'll find in the beautiful display case, which features a fire-breathing dragon.

The Children of Húrin (2007): Written after The Silmarillion as a standalone prequel story, The Children of Húrin takes place 6,000 years before the events of LOTR. The story follows the cursed son of Húrin, named Túrin, during an era of intense and constant war and widespread devastation caused by the Dark Lord Morgoth. If you've read The Silmarillion, you will recognize some of the names found in this novel.

Beren and Lúthien (2017): Another very early tale set in Middle-earth, Beren and Lúthien was reworked and revised over time and eventually became part of The Silmarillion. This compilation of Lúthien and Beren's story was originally published in 2017. It shows the evolution of the love story between the mortal man Beren and immortal elf Lúthien.

The Fall of Gondolin (2018): Founded by King Turgon, the eponymous city of elves was concealed for many years before Lord Morgoth's quest to destroy elven life across Middle-earth. The Fall of Gondolin's main protagonist is Túrin's cousin, Tuor, and his family. Tuor is married to Turgon's daughter, Idril. The story follows their attempt to save their child after the Gondolin (unsurprisingly) falls.

It's worth noting that The Great Tales of Middle-earth is already available as a hardcover box set. While it won't match Myths and Legends or the four History of Middle-earth Box Sets, the 2018 hardcover collection is on sale for only $50 (was $100) at Amazon. Alternatively, you can purchase each book individually in hardcover or paperback.

The Great Tales of Middle-earth Editions:

The History of Middle-earth Hardcover Box Sets (2024)

J.R.R. Tolkien - The History of Middle-earth Box Sets (2024)
J.R.R. Tolkien - The History of Middle-earth Box Sets (2024)

The History of Middle-earth was originally published over a 14-year stretch from 1983 to 1996. While creating his fantasy world, Tolkien took extensive notes, building a backstory for Middle-earth across three different ages and 6,500-plus years. You could argue that the author's dedication to crafting the setting that would become home to a pair of landmark fantasy novels turned Middle-earth into the most believable character Tolkien created. His mythopoeic writings formed what is commonly referred to as Tolkien's legendarium.

At the time of Tolkien's death in 1973, the exhaustive backstory of Middle-earth remained unpublished. Over the next few years, his son and literary executor, Christopher Tolkien, undertook the daunting project of editing, expanding, and curating the legendarium into publishable works. The legendarium would become a 12-volume series titled The History of Middle-earth.

AMD's New RX 9060 XT Graphics Card Will Launch In 8GB And 16GB VRAM Versions

AMD announced its latest graphics card, the Radeon RX 9060 X, at Computex 2025 earlier this week. This is the third GPU in AMD's 9000 series lineup that also includes the RX 9070 and 9070 XT, and its slated to launch June 5. While it's positioned as the entry-level option in the RX 9000 series, the RX 9060 XT runs on the same RNDA 4 architecture as the more powerful RX 9070 and 9070 XT and includes FSR 4 resolution upscaling and frame generation, as well as DisplayPort 2.1a and HDMI 2.1b support.

AMD is producing two versions of the RX 9060 XT: one with 8GB VRAM and another with 16GB VRAM. Both models will feature 32 RDNA 4 CUs (computation units), up to 3.13GHz clock speed, and between 150W and 182W power draw, depending on the model's VRAM and clock speed. While those are solid specs for an entry-level card, things get a bit more confusing from there.

Power and pricing

AMD lists the MSRP as $300 for the 8GB model and $350 for the 16GB model. However, the company is not releasing RX 9060 XT reference cards itself. Instead, third-party manufacturers like Asus, Acer, Gigabyte, and others are launching their own versions of the RX 9060 XT starting June 5. As such, performance, power draw, and pricing will likely differ between the various RX 9060 XT models (especially for overclocked models), but at least some of these GPUs will stick to the reference clock speeds and therefore MSRP (assuming the ongoing tariffs do not impact those prices).

All Careers In The Sims 4: Jobs, Tips, And How To Get Promoted

There are a lot of different jobs to choose from in The Sims 4, including a pretty robust group of careers included with the base game and plenty more that have been added via DLC over the decade-plus that The Sims 4 has been out. What jobs you have your sims sign up for is totally up to you, but there are a lot of factors that can affect your performance, like whether your sim's skills are appropriate for the job you want. If you want your sims to be successful, some knowledge and effort are required--just like it is with a real job.

While there are specific things you'll need to know about each individual career that can help you get ahead, there are also some universal tips that can help your sims climb their corporate ladders.

General tips for any Sims 4 career

Pick an active, self-employment, or rabbit hole job

There are three main types of careers in The Sims 4. Most of them are rabbit hole-type jobs, where your sims just go offscreen and do their thing without any meaningful input from the player. But there are also "active" careers, where you follow your sim to their place of business and you'll have to make them do various tasks (though you can also play these as rabbit hole jobs if you'd prefer), and self-employment and freelance careers where your sim will complete individual gigs from the comfort of their homes, like writing a book, painting a picture, or building furniture.

How To Use The Sims 4 Moveobjects Cheat

There are two main types of Sims 4 players. There are the folks who are here for the simulation side of things, with all the fun drama that entails. And then there are those who are here to build dope houses. Regardless of which of those you are, there's one cheat that is absolutely essential (though it'll matter much more for the builders): bb.moveobjects.

This cheat is among the most-used Sims 4 cheats aside from the ones that give you money. Once you've used it, it's not tough to understand why it's so beloved--the moveobjects cheat makes building a realistic house much easier, and generally allows you to play a lot more items than there would normally be room for. It's so fundamentally important that EA has actually incorporated certain aspects of the cheat into the base game. At this point, EA treats it more like a tool for advanced users than a real cheat.

How to turn on bb.moveobjects

To activate this cheat, press ctrl+shift+C on PC, or hold down all four shoulder buttons if you're playing on a console, to bring up the command console at the top left of your screen, and then type "bb.moveobjects on". There is no need to activate cheats generally with the separate "testingcheats true" command or to do anything else. Moveobjects works by itself.

Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3: What's Next After Star Wars Season Ends?

We're only a few weeks into Fortnite's Star Wars season, but since the season is only five weeks long, that means we're already getting close to the end. Once Star Wars season wraps up, things will be back to normal in Battle Royale and Zero Build--or maybe there's nothing normal at all about what's coming up next season.

Right now we've got a lot more questions (about 7,000) than we do answers (about 0) regarding what's in store for the Fortnite island once all these Star Wars people leave, but let's go through the rumors and guesswork we've got so far.

Is the upcoming Fortnite season Chapter 6 Season 3 or Chapter 6 Season 4?

We don't have a confirmed answer for this question right now, but since the Star Wars season is designated in the game's metadata as Chapter 6 MS1 (mini-season 1), it stands to reason that next season will be called Season 3. It also implies, but does not confirm, plans for an additional mini-seasons in the future.

Nintendo Switch 2 Is Compatible With A Standard USB Mouse

One of the most intriguing developments with Nintendo Switch 2 is that the Joy-Con 2 controllers have mouse-like functionality for certain games. That's been a long-requested feature, but players who love using mice appear to have that option on Switch 2 as well.

During a demonstration for Nobunaga's Ambition: Awakening CE on Switch 2 (via Insider Gaming), producer Michi Ryu plugged a wired mouse into the console and began playing with it. He also noted that when the mouse is plugged in, it takes priority control away from the Joy-Con 2 controllers. Ryu used the mouse around the 10:53 mark in the video below.

This doesn't necessarily mean that all Switch 2 games will be compatible with a standard mouse. It's also unclear if wireless mice are also usable on Switch 2. XCOM creator Julian Gollop recently suggested that Switch 2's mouse options may lead to more strategy games on the system.

Switch 2's Yakuza 0 Director's Cut Is An Upgraded Version Aimed At Old And New Fans

Ryu Ga Gotoku fans are a special type of fandom where almost everyone involved agrees on one thing: Yakuza 0 is the best starting point in the Like A Dragon/Yakuza series. It's rare that someone disagrees that Yakuza 0 is one of the best titles in the entire franchise and still one of the best games the studio has made. Even after eight mainline titles--Yakuza Kiwami through Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth--there is simply no game in the series that catches the same feel as Yakuza 0. Fans will even beg any of their friends, gamers or not, to play Yakuza 0 because it's really that wonderful.

When Yakuza Kiwami was released on Nintendo Switch last fall, fans anticipated Yakuza 0 would finally make its way to the Nintendo platforms too. Although there were many technical issues with Kiwami running on an aged console, RGG fans will be happy to know Yakuza 0 Director's Cut on Nintendo Switch 2 runs smoother than a perfect score on "Friday Night" in the disco minigame.

If you haven't checked out the Yakuza/Like A Dragon series yet, the Director's Cut is shaping up to be the best way to try it, as it takes place first in the story chronologically, and the new Nintendo Switch 2 version will have upgraded graphics and more features that are missing from the original.

Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller Preorders Restocked At Select Retailers

Rather unsurprisingly, the Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller has been one of the most popular accessory add-ons for the upcoming console since preorders opened last month. Interest in Nintendo's newest conventional controller has caused multiple retailers to sell out ahead of launch. With two weeks remaining until the Switch 2 arrives, preorders for the Pro Controller are currently available at Target and GameStop.

Depending on your location, you may be able to snag a preorder for in-store, launch-day pickup at Best Buy. The Switch 2 Pro Controller is fully sold out at Walmart, and it doesn't appear as if it will be restocked prior to the controller's (and console's) June 5 launch.

Naughty Dog's New IP Intergalactic Has The "Deepest" Gameplay The Studio Has Ever Done

Naughty Dog boss Neil Druckmann has further discussed the company's upcoming new IP, Intergalatic: The Heretic Prophet, saying it offers the "deepest" gameplay for any game the studio has made so far. Druckmann also briefly discussed the backlash from some people to the game's unveiling.

Speaking to Last Stand Media (via PC Gamer), Druckmann said he's "very, very excited" for Intergalactic, adding that "it's the deepest gameplay we've ever done." It's not exactly clear what he means by that, but we should find out in time. "I can't wait to show it off," Druckmann said.

A scene from Intergalactic.

The reveal trailer for Intergalactic showed main character Jordan A. Mun in a spaceship before she descended down onto a planet to fight a giant robot enemy with a red sword. The trailer cut out just as the action was set to begin, so we can only guess as to what happens next.

Nintendo Switch 2 Cameras - Three Official Models Are Up For Preorder

If you're looking forward to the Nintendo Switch 2's new GameChat feature but haven't snagged a camera yet, there are now three official USB-C cameras to choose from. Nintendo's first-party Switch 2 Camera has sold out multiple times since preorders opened last month, but you can preorder the $55 accessory at a few different retailers at the moment.

Alternatively, Hori's upcoming lineup of officially licensed Nintendo Switch 2 accessories includes two unique cameras. One of them doubles as an adorable Super Mario Piranha Plant decoration, while the other Hori USB Camera is a portable-minded option for TV, handheld, and tabletop modes.

It's worth noting that the Switch 2 will support select third-party USB-C cameras, including existing cameras not technically designed for Switch 2. Nintendo will offer a "Test USB Camera" feature in the system settings so you can check if your device is supported.

Squash Call Of Duty Beef By Sending Your Rival Literal Beef

We've probably all experienced a heated rivalry with a friend or another player in a game that transitions to a full-on grudge. Activision wants you to be able to acknowledge your Call of Duty beefs by sending your rival literal beef.

Activision has partnered with Manly Man Co., which is an artisanal beef jerky company that makes creatively shaped products out of dried meat, to sell an edible Call of Duty-themed card to their friends. Players can purchase the "Settle our Beef" meat card for $24.50, which comes with the ability to have the sender's and receiver's name imprinted directly on the meat.

Got a grudge? A friendly feud? Don’t just talk smack—send it. Literally 😤

The card is emblazoned with the Call of Duty logo and also states, "Time to settle our beef[.] 1v1 me in Call of Duty[.]" It isn't small--it measures 4x9 inches and contains 1.8 ounces of jerky.

Zelda: Breath Of The Wild And Tears Of The Kingdom - Every Switch 2 Upgrade

When the Switch 2 launches, it'll feature backwards compatibility with a strong library of games inherited from the original Switch console. Two of the best first-party games--The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom--won't just be compatible with the Switch 2, they'll be upgraded in the form of what are called Switch 2 Editions.

If you're interested in returning to Hyrule or you haven't experienced these games yet and you're curious to see what makes them different, we've broken down the biggest changes below to help you make your decision.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom Switch 2 prices

First, the obvious one: These enhancements won't be free. If you already own BOTW or TOTK, the Upgrade Packs for them are $10 each. If you don't own the games, then the Switch 2 versions specifically are $80 each, but you can save some cash here. Amazon has both games available and at a discount, so the best option might be to buy the Switch 1 versions and then the upgrade packs, saving you around $15 on average per game.

One other thing to note is that the Switch 2 versions or the Switch 1 Upgrade Packs do not include any of the DLC released over the years for the games. If you want those, you'll have to buy them separately.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild graphical upgrades

While the game still looks great on Switch consoles, the Switch 2 version will offer a higher resolution, improved frame rates, and HDR support. Loading times have been improved, and you can also import your save data.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom graphical upgrades

Overall, you can also expect a higher resolution, improved frame rates, HDR support, and improved load times in TOTK. Like BOTW, you can also import your Switch 1 save data into the Switch 2 version.

Zelda Notes

The two Zelda games are massive, and to help players out, Nintendo has introduced Zelda Notes for the Switch 2 versions. This will let you access various game tips and it can be used through the Nintendo Switch app on smart devices. This free feature does not require you to have a Nintendo Switch Online membership.

Zelda Notes: Navigation

This handy feature will guide you in real time across the map to find the elusive Koroks and hard-to-reach shrines. You can also track your progress as you find Koroks and clear shrines, as various achievement rates will show you how close you are to earning a coveted 100% completion rate.

Zelda Notes: Voice Memories

Visiting certain locations will allow you to gain insight about your surroundings from Zelda and other characters. Think of it as an audio guide to Hyrule's history.

Zelda Notes: Autobuild Sharing

If you've made a cool design using your Ultrahand skills in Tears of the Kingdom and you want to share the details of it, you can convert it to a QR code and share it on social media. Other players can then access it and have fun with your creations. Autobuild was introduced in TOTK, so this Zelda Notes feature is exclusive to that game.

Zelda Notes: Item Sharing

You can deposit in-game items into your Zelda Notes inbox and share them with other players via QR codes. This works both ways, as you can also receive gifts from other players using their QR codes.

Zelda Notes: Photo Studio

For the shutterbugs out there, you can send the photos you've taken in the Zelda games to the Zelda Notes app and enhance them with various decorations.

Zelda Notes: My Play Data

Do you want to see detailed information about your play sessions? The Zelda Notes app will offer that feature, allowing you to see everything from the number of enemies you've defeated to how many times you've seen a game over screen. You can also earn in-game badges for reaching certain milestones.

Zelda Notes: Global Play Data

Comparison is the thief of joy, but if you need some motivation to get better in these Zelda games, you can compare your stats with other players from across the globe.

Zelda Notes: Daily Bonus

Once per day, you can test your luck and get a random reward. The possible rewards here include hearts, weapons, and other effects.

Zelda Notes: Amiibo Support

You can scan a compatible Amiibo up to five times per day by using Zelda Notes, unlocking in-game items.

Are the Switch Legend of Zelda games still worth playing?

Both games have been critically acclaimed since launch, and they still hold up very well. BOTW was lauded for its thrilling gameplay and a world full of secrets, while its TOTK sequel pushed these ideas even further and added a few new wrinkles of its own. Both games have earned rare 10/10 review scores on GameSpot, proving just how good they are. If you'd like to see what makes each one so special, you can read the individual reviews listed below.

New Starfield Update Improves Performance For Low-End PCs

Bethesda Game Studios has released update 1.15.216 for its sci-fi RPG Starfield. This month's patch isn't the most flashy, but it adds some important features like Very Low display settings and an increase in the file size limit for Creation Kit mods.

Adding Very Low display settings is meant to improve Starfield's performance on low-end PCs. As the game has struggled with performance issues since launch, these new display settings should at least make playing Starfield a much smoother experience for some people. Many Starfield players will likely care about the bug fixes and improvements to Creation Kit more, though. Mod creators can now add new icons to Starfield, upload creations that are up to 2 GB in file size, and bundle their mods on the Creation Store.

Bethesda also used this update to highlight a new mod from Kinggath Creations, a professional modding group known for its Creations in other Bethesda games like The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Fallout 4. It's called Watchtower and adds a whole new storyline to Starfield where you have to take on the titular new faction, which sees you as a threat to humanity. Watchtower also brings some gameplay features, such as the ability to call orbital strikes.

Space Marine's New 4K Version Skips PS5, Launches Day One On Game Pass

Sega has announced the Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine Master Crafted Edition, and it's not coming to PlayStation 5--at least not right away. The new version is coming for Xbox Series X|S and PC, but there is no word yet on a potential release for the PlayStation 5.

The game launches on June 10, and it'll be available through Xbox Game Pass. On PC, people can buy it through Steam and the Epic Games Store.

Given the day-one launch for Game Pass, some are theorizing that Microsoft might have cut a deal with Sega for this. Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer previously talked about trying to give players a choice about where they play their games, as opposed to doing "slimy platform things to force you to do what I want." Space Marine is a Sega-published game, however.

Schedule 1 Finally Respects Your Property's Space In Beta Patch Notes

When you're running a respectable drug empire in Schedule 1, space quickly becomes limited as you race to fill the available real estate with grow setups, mixing stations, and packing stations. Maximizing your income is the real aim of the game here, so that leaves precious little space for the horde of employee beds required to get a little help with labor. Now, in its open beta, Schedule 1 will no longer require employees to be registered to beds.

Instead, you'll be able to place a locker, which has a much smaller footprint, and removes the possibility of employee pathways becoming entangled, leading to some very confused, and very stuck, NPCs. Solo developer TVGS does mention in the patch notes that existing employees will still need to be assigned to beds for "compatibility reasons" but that any new employees can use lockers instead.

Of course, the obvious solution is to fire everyone, remove their beds, place lockers, and rehire them--if you can be bothered.

Switch Online's Game Boy Collection Adds Four Games, Including A Classic Kirby Title

Nintendo has revealed four new games coming to Nintendo Switch Online's Game Boy library today, May 23. They are Kirby Star Stacker, Survival Kids, Gradius: The Interstellar Assault, and The Sword of Hope.

Kirby Star Stacker is the highest-profile addition. Originally released by HAL Laboratory in 1997, it is a puzzle game with gameplay similar to Tetris Attack or Pokemon Puzzle League. Players have to match blocks that look like Rick, Coo, and Kine from Kirby's Dream Land 2. The Super Famicom version of this game came to Nintendo Switch Online in 2023, but now the original release also has a place as part of Nintendo's subscription service.

Survival Kids is another notable inclusion this month because it's a Konami franchise about to be reimagined for Nintendo Switch 2. The original Survival Kids is a cult classic that tasks players with surviving on a deserted island. If you enjoy modern survival games, they owe a lot to games like Survival Kids that helped trailblaze some of the genre's mechanics. While the Nintendo Switch 2 version of Survival Kids looks like a lighthearted, cooperative reinterpretation of the series' formula, it's nice to have the rare Game Boy original available through Switch Online now.
