Update: 3D printed servo controlled paddleboard fin
The mechanism worked really great. I ran the motor at 10% of the power. The servo could easily change the direction. The whole assembly felt sturdy. The ESC burned when i ran it at around 30 % of the power. I am now working on replacing it with a better esc. And will also work on a detailed video of the whole build snd some more testing. Is 3D Printing Fumes Toxic?
Every now and then I smell a really pungent smell, and everyone in the house has been coughing for months now. Only recently did I realise that the smell was coming from my brothers 3D printer (picture attached), and he doesn’t give a batshit when I told him that it’s toxic, and could possibly be why we are all coughing. He doesn’t even seem to smell the pungent fumes, while I can smell it very distinctively, in the common toilet that we share, and around the house. He even discards the water (idk what you guys use), into our toilet bathing drainage hole. Can someone enlighten whether this is actually toxic? Thank you! [link] [comments] |
WARNING: DO NOT BUY FROM 3DFUSED! SCAM
Last summer I ordered rail kits for my ender 3, along with 12floz of rail oil. After 6 months of waiting, missed “promised” deadlines from the owner himself, I canceled my order. It took about a week to get my money back, as they had me sign a forum saying we wouldn’t do a charge back. After that they pretty much ghosted us until we contacted them again asking about the delays and such, and after all of that we got our money back.
However, I did not cancel my order of rail fluid. It’s been about a year now, and I still have not gotten it. I was going to include a screenshot of the order on my account (which I will now delete), but the order is GONE.
So just to remind you, no matter what the guy says, “struggling company, supplier issues, etc” don’t fall for it. And yes they have a Reddit presence, that’s how I originally fell for it. How hard is it to get a 12oz bottle of rail fluid?

R2 updates
Almost done with the overhaul of my 3D printed r2d2. Foot shells and battery boxes are what’s left then weathering and done. #r2d2 #3dprinted #starwars #droids [link] [comments] |
Is this 3d printable?
Can you make colored lithopanes like this? (I do have a bambulab p1p with an ams so I can do multi color) I know it won’t look exactly like the video but I was curious if it’s possible to get close. Also, does anyone know how something like this is made? I know it’s a picture frame with led’s behind it but how is the glass insert itself is made? [link] [comments] |
After 5 years of faffing around with enders, I finally switched to Bambu A1 and my mind is blown
Don't get me wrong, I love my ender and I respect Creality with releasing a very affordable and versitle series of printers. I had loads of fun customizing and working with my ender3v2. But after 5 years, I had replaced pretty much every part of the ender due to it breaking down or to improve it and I ultimately got tired of enders needing calibration sometimes for no apprent reason or when the moon changes lunar tides, i don't know. It's such a faff. Bambu had a sale just a few days ago and I pulled the trigger, it arrived today and in 30 minutes I was printing benchy and was suprised how... it just works. No manual calibration needed, no leveling, no adjusting axis, no nothing and benchy was near perfect and the speed is amazing. My face when I found out the A1 cleans and purges it's own nozzle :O Truly amazing how far 3d printing has come and I felt like I was under a rock for so long keeping my ender for all these years. The amount of mods and parts I have spent on my ender is almost the same amount I spent on buying my Bambu A1. Sorry if this was common knowledge, Im just truly shocked. [link] [comments] |

I 3D printed this hair pin and I love it! So fancy with the gold paint
Here is the link to the model on thingiverse, I scaled it down to 80% of the original size: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4080058 I sanded it, sprayed it with primer and then the gold paint. Its not completely smooth but I like the rough finish! [link] [comments] |
Just set up my first printer!
My wife wants to put googly eyes on the nozzle housing, would that be safe as long as they stay stuck? Would Elmer’s stick glue work on the textured and smooth hot plate? [link] [comments] |
