I f***ing love 3D printers and CNCs

Client wanted a custom version of one of their parts but didn’t want to touch the mold. Only way out: CNC the damn things. Problem? No safe way to clamp them.

We thought about machined aluminum soft jaws—but they’re harder than the plastic parts, so… yeah, not ideal. Then we tried 3D printing jaws in PETG. Total game-changer.

Takes ~1h30m to print any version we need, and we’re cranking out custom setups basically for free. PETG MVP.

Finally I managed to create a 100% 3d printed version

Finally I managed to create a 100% 3d printed version

Last year I designed a golf ball dispenser, it was now time to make some changes.

But I decided to start from 0 instead. This time not trying to optimize filament usage and instead aiming at:

  • Not using bolts
  • Not using glue
  • No coins as weight
  • Ball magazine with atleast 25 balls
  • No supports when printing
  • Printable on A1 mini (glue allowed for the arm)
  • No extreme print time
  • Not relying on tigth tolerance

I think I succeeded!

I combined layer swaps and fuzzy skin for a satisfying pattern that doesn't require a multicolor printer!

This is another piece in my ongoing experimentation with the idea of 'multi-texture' printing, where I use multi-part models to create selectively fuzzy prints! This small WALDO planter is free to download here, along with lots of other multi-texture prints :)

3D designed a shell for a Raspberry Pi5, keyboard, and screen as a personal media device.

3D designed a shell for a Raspberry Pi5, keyboard, and screen as a personal media device.

I recently wanted to put my 3D modelling skills to the test, and I designed a version 1 of a shell that works with a 7 inch screen, keyboard, and raspberry pi 5 board. I had to print my design in 3 seperate pieces, since my 3D printer is too small to print it as one object, and the entire shell is held together with craft glue. I know this doesn't seem solid, but it's surprisingly stable. I will post links to all of the components that I've used, adhesives, screen, keyboard, and cabling included.

Printable 1962 Fender Stratocaster

Printable 1962 Fender Stratocaster

Hi everyone! I have been making 3D printed guitars for a while now and wanted to showcase my original design of a 1962 Fender Stratocaster! I designed it all in solid works and am working on some other designs for the body as well! The guitar sounds incredible and plays almost identically to a normal Strat! I originally started designing these guitars by remixing the prusa caster to be compatible with fender components. I am thinking about designing other types of electric guitar and was looking for some feedback on this design as well as some other ideas on what other types of guitars I should make. I recently just posted this design on maker lab for all of you to enjoy! If you end up printing it send me pictures!
